Small area, full of food vendors. Some such as the drink stores do hard selling by letting you try their drinks nonstop, you canât seem to return their cups as they keep pouring for you, so watch out! Tried the fried sweet potato/ cabbage bun store which was very popular, had a long line. You take the amount of food you want then pay for them per bag, basically stuff as much as you want. We only took 2 sweet potatoes as I didnât need that many sweet potatoes but the kind staff said we took too little and gave us more which we politely declined. Cabbage bun was alright, not recommended, though the staff was sweet. Hamburger pancake store - we chose corn and egg which was great, though thereâs a waiting time for it too. Guabao- we tried 2 from two different stores, one right at the front nearest to the pier and the other one slightly hidden, and we could tell why the one nearer to the pier had a line. Although pricier, itâs more worth it than the other one. The one closer to the pier had a bigger bun and the pork was soft, while the other one had sugar and ground peanut added which we didnât quite like. We also got the grilled mochi with cheese powder and seaweed, staff was unfriendly and food wasnât good too. There were restaurants that you could sit in, selling xiaolongbaos and...

Read moreFirst day of arrival. Street food prices, even in restaurants, are considerably higher than in other tourist areas, and also higher than on Kending Road. One very positive thing to mention is that the displays, goods and offerings at all shops and hawkers' stalls are very lovingly, aesthetically and neatly arranged. In my opinion, the selection is diverse, and there are also dishes that differ from the usual fare. Some stalls also offer small free "samples" to try the products/food/beverages, which I find particularly customer-friendly, this is also the first place I have seen this. I only consumed a black small mini filled soy? bun for $45 as street food. Over the next days, I will be getting by consuming on minimal survival food in...
