蒸開心家常菜 — Restaurant in Yuchi Township

Cozy home cooked dinner vibe :) We got a set meal for 2 for 600 NT that includes a green onion pork stir fry, tofu and ground pork dish, stir fried Taiwanese cabbage, and a simple broth with vegetables. We added a plate of noodles for 90 NT as I did not feel like having the complimentary self-serve rice. Overall the food hit the spot and was not too expensive for being in such a touristy location. The broth was a bit plain but I enjoyed the veggies inside.

Ordering separate dishes would have been significantly more expensive but they have many options.

We got a complimentary coupon for a free skewer of their popular frog shaped egg cakes (normally $80 NT) redeemable for within a year of the stamped date.

Their window for dinner is quite small, with the restaurant closing at 7:30PM so plan accordingly!

Local restaurant in Ita Thao food market. Menu includes xiaolongbao, a variety of meat, veggie and soup dishes to enjoy with free rice. We ordered xiaolongbao (the filling is superb, the skin is a bit thick), pork ribs and stir-fried veggies. The portion is big and the price is really reasonable.
