Sun Moon Lake Waterfront Resort Hotel — Hotel in Yuchi Township

Had one of our best time in Taiwan staying at this 'Ming Su'. The lady owner of the accomodation is very helpful to ensure that we as comfortable as possible, even to the point of bringing us to book a 2-men bicycle at the nearby shop! (We went during the weekday so it wasn't too busy for her.)

The interesting feature of this top floor (level 7) room is that the ceiling is made of glass. (And they are very clean!) Some of the rooms even have full glass (with curtain) on the walls so you can see good lake views from the room. It was a refreshing experience for us as it feels like we were sleeping outdoor. We tried star gazing from our room but it was too cloudy that night.

One thing might be of concern is that it is located right at the heart of Ita Thao so if you are driving, do call first to find with where the free parking is, which is about 4min walk away. Do not park at the car park beside the hotel as it's very expensive and without any upper limit.

We booked the quad room with glass ceiling so we can push the 2 queen size bed side by side to make it into a super long bed which was interesting as well (the 2 mattresses are placed on a raised platform)

It's a pity that we only stay here for 1 night. It will be better to stay here for at least 2 nights to enjoy the room to the fullest!

This property is also with the name Shuian Lakeside Hotel. Please read the recent reviews and don’t get fooled by the rating as this hotel has probably playing with different names for rating. We stayed at the high floor lakeside view room 604@5. This is the worst room as the whole room is not functional for guests. Its walks and roof are all reflecting making it very weird. This room is make full golden and is very cringy design. The bathroom is full open and you can never have a comfort of a closed space . There is no towel rack , no place to keep shower head , the soap dispenser is far so you have to walk out or the shower are la etc..when asked for a change of room they showed the top room with a balcony which was definitely better but instead of giving it as a service they wanted to charge us more for it 70 USD more per night which is ridiculous. As we had checked in late night we asked whether can cut short by 1 night and we will find another hotel for the next night. Initially they agreed but next day at breakfast they said they can’t cancel, going back on their own word. The breakfast is absolutely for peasants not worth staying here

Also the rooms are next to a market which has late night music and rooms are not sound...

Positive views: Friendly staff and the location was convenient to meet your needs outside such as street food, winery, etc. Negative views: Rooms shown in the google advertisement ads weren’t the same. Old/ nuisance smell upon entering the room in 2nd floor. You have no control over the AC so it was extremely hot the first time we got in and the temperature remained at 25 degrees celsius, it wasn’t cold enough for me especially during a hot summer. The sink was movable as it was almost break when you lean on it. There are no bathtub as shown in the pictures. We asked for a lake side view but there was non available for us so our curtain was closed...
