The international chain hotel by Sun Moon Lake stands out as a new contender, still in its trial operation phase, not officially open yet. The hallways retain a lingering scent of renovation. Diamond members are entitled to early check-in and 1pm late check-out, with no breakfast included as clearly indicated. I was upgraded to the top-level 12th-floor Family Balcony room, whereas the base rooms don't come with a balcony. The balcony offers a partial view of Sun Moon Lake, perfect enjoying a relaxing sunset. The hotel's location might not be the absolute best, but it's definitely the highest around, and the advantages become apparent with increased elevation. ||||They've named it a hot spring hotel, complete with complimentary indoor hot springs, a sauna, and a steam room. And in addition to the public hot springs, each room is equipped with two private pools, one cold and one hot. The minibar is complimentary, though it only includes three bottles of soda and juice. They also provide beverage vouchers and bike rental discounts. The beverage voucher options are somewhat limited, but the bike vouchers can be used for cycling around Sun Moon Lake.||||Right downstairs, there's a small night market and a street full of street food vendors. You can easily find breakfast and dinner options here. I tried one of the seafood street vendors for dinner, and the taste was exceptional with very fresh seafood. Within a short walk, you can reach the Sun Moon Lake...
Read moreJust had to share about our overnight stay at the Wyndham - even though we were only there for one night, it left quite an impression.
The room really stood out with those thoughtful touches - free Illy coffee, tea, and cookies waiting for us. After a long day of traveling with my parents and brother, it was exactly what we needed. The one-touch controls for lights and curtains might seem like a small thing, but they made the room feel special.
Even with just one morning there, the breakfast made a lasting impression. The spread was incredible - everything from western options like scrambled eggs and bacon to eastern dishes like seafood congee and beef stew. My dad particularly enjoyed the beef stew, while my brother and I tried a bit of everything. The comb honey for tea was a nice authentic touch.
The location was perfect for our short stay - right in the busiest part of Sun Moon Lake, which meant we could make the most of our limited time there. Everything was within walking distance, yet the hotel itself felt peaceful.
For just one night, it was absolutely worth it. Sometimes a short stay can still leave a lasting impression, and that's exactly what happened here. If you're considering Wyndham for even a quick visit to Sun Moon Lake, I'd...
Read moreThe hotel truly delivers a five-star experience, with exceptionally friendly staff who go out of their way to help.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, offering plenty of thoughtful touches, including complimentary snacks and drinks. The lounge is also a highlight, especially thanks to the attentive staff who ensure a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
However, the food selection in the lounge could be improved I’m not a fan of seafood, and the offerings were heavily focused on it.
The pool and gym facilities are excellent, providing plenty of amenities for guests to enjoy.
If I had to point out a downside, it would be the food. While breakfast and room service are presented as premium options, the quality could be better. I had to send my room service meal back as it wasn’t properly cooked, and while the manager was very helpful in replacing it, the second attempt had the same issue.
Breakfast, though priced at a premium, was often lukewarm rather than hot.
That said, I would still recommend the hotel, especially for its fantastic service, central location, and prime spot by the lake.
Parking is free, though navigating in and out can be a bit tight if you’re driving a...
