Materuni Tours & Safari LTD — Attraction in Kilimanjaro

Did the Kilimanjaro 6-Day Umbwe Route with Materuni and had the most wonderful time! Was briefed thoroughly by our 3 guides (Ramadhan, Abel, Joshua) the day before the climb and they checked all of our gear. They made sure to answer all of our questions or concerns. All of the guides have great English skills and are super knowledgeable about the mountain. They will do whatever it takes to take care of you on the mountain. I had to come down from they mountain early because of mountain sickness and Joshua came down with me. He took really good care of me and constantly asked how I was feeling/what I would like to do to feel better. The porters were incredible and also went out of their way to help you and have everything set up for you at camp. We also did a Ngorongoro Safari tour with Materuni. The original plan was to leave the day after we returned from the climb however because we were on a time crunch we wanted to leave for the 4-hour drive the same day we returned. The owner of the company, Ambrose, was very helpful and flexible to help us make these changes. We were able to have a full day at Ngorongoro and not have to rush our safari day. We organized the climb of Mount Kilimanjaro with Materuni Tours via the Lemosho route in 7 days (which became 6 as we combined two days after reaching the summit). I really enjoyed the route we took; it gives you time to appreciate the landscape around you and see how the environment and vegetation change along the way. Every detail of the organization was perfect, and we were very satisfied. The entire team that supported and helped us achieve our dream was fantastic, starting with our two guides, Joseph and Matthew. They were both always very attentive to our pace and needs.

Additionally, we ate much better (and a lot!) than we expected every day, with a varied menu. One evening, they even made a sort of pizza that was very well received. Finally, Ambrose's guesthouse is new and stunning. The beds are comfortable, allowing for a good night's sleep so you can start the trek well-rested and recover well once it's over.

I did the 7 day Lemosho route to Kili with Materuni, in Sep. '24. It was a lovely experience with all the aspects catered to by Ambrose (the owner) - including the airport transfers, overnight stay before & after the trek.
