We are not quite sure where it starts and where it stops, so we just drove to casa de campo, stopped at a restaurant just under the cables, and figured out that walking up the hills following the cable car poles will take us to one end. Well, we given up after a while and decided to drive to the Paseo de los Rosales after all. We were pleasantly surprised to find a conveniently placed car park near the Teleferico building. There was a little bit of a queue, While wating in the queue a profesional photographers takes your pictture. You can buy the pictures at the other end. When our cable car arrived, I was pleased to find that you may ask to have your speakers in the cabin in enlish or other languages. The comments during the trip were useful and instructive. The views over the Palacio Real, Madrid, Casa de Campo, the river, the apartment blocks, the private gardens and balconies of some rbanizations, were entertaining. The weather was fantastic, Our teleferico had a quarter of the window open, so we were able to get some good shots of what we've seen. I'll post them very soon. The experience was good for the children as well. At the end en Casa de Campo, there was a good restaurant, with reasonable pricing, Getting out of the building we could have a lovely walk, we found a big playground in a well saded area, with views over the...
Read moreHorrible experience. First of all, the cable car was built in 1969 and was not renovated since. The cable car stations are decrepit and look almost abandoned. The cable cars are old and creaky to an extent that half of them are not in use anymore. In fact one broke just before we were going to get on! The facilities are closed and most of them have not been tended to since the 70’s, and have been taped off! What makes it worse is that the waiting time for getting in the cable car is around 1 hour for an 11 minute ride. This is because the system which slows down the cable car dosent work anymore and all cable cars have to be stopped manually. The cable cars have little balance and rock side to side with an odd number of people. Workers pay little regard for safety, they let 5 people get into the 4 people cable car and do not even out the people in the cars, which makes the wait even slower. Prices are OK, 6€ per person for a round trip, but the company should be paying you for wasting your time and risking your life on the rusty cable car! I would avoid, but there is no other way to get up on the hill, unless you fancy an even longer hike. This service should be renovated or closed down...
Read moreATENCION!
