These apartments were in a really good location. We were able to access the local train which connected to the main trains, we could walk to the buses and the metro underground. ||Within walking distance you had some amazing parks and the Royal Palace and cathedral. Make sure you pre book tickets for the palace including the extra kitchen tour ticket. ||The temple of Debud was just round the corner where there is a fabulous atmosphere on the hill at sunset and amazing views. ||If you’re happy to use your legs you can walk to the Plazas, the cable car, the 360 degree viewing station and much more. ||The Bernabéu stadium was easy to get to on the metro too. ||We did a 3 hour cycle tour through Get Your Guide and it was brilliant. Do this early on to get your bearings. ||The apartments themselves - if you’re expecting hotel luxury these aren’t for you however if you’re a regular apartment user these were perfect. They were very large and spacious and exceptionally clean. The kitchenette and kettle/ utensils etc were spotless. The bed was huge and comfortable and the room was very quiet (we were in 408). ||The shower although a little tight on space was hot and powerful. The breakfast is in the lobby and is supplied by one of the local restaurants and had all your usual continental hot and cold food with home made cakes, sausage bacon egg, fresh fruit, croissants, sandwiches, cold cheese and ham, yoghurt etc. Again not the enormous spread you would get in a hotel but all you need. ||There are no views in this block so it’s just to get your head down but half the price of most hotels in the city. ||If you like a nightcap or sociable drink (NOT for the youngsters or party goers) there is a small bar round the corner that does amazing food and gets really busy. It has a really busy restaurant but you have to book. No outside seating but we’ll worth dropping in for a drink and decent measures - LA CHARCA. ||All the staff in the apartment were so friendly and helpful and reception is 24 hour. ||Highly...
Read moreI recently stayed here for three nights after booking a city break with EasyJet. The hotel is ideally suited for access to the centre of Madrid with Grand Via only a 5-10 minute walk away.
The staff were very welcoming and I checked in very easily - I didn't even need my EasyJet paperwork. The reception area was nice and airy, and although I didn't make use of it, the breakfast area seemed nice and modern.
There are two small lifts (will probably take two people with luggage), but only one of them goes to the basement car parking area (accessed using your door card).
My single/twin room was on the second floor and overlooked the road. It was probably one of the largest rooms I've ever stayed in (I don't get about much!). As you walk in, there is a double wardrobe on the left with plenty of hangers and space for bags. This also contained the digital safe. Next was the "kitchen" area with sink, hob, and microwave (the latter two were disconnected for some reason). There was plenty of cupboard space with a few pieces of kitchen equipment, though more was apparently available from reception. Also here was a fairly decently stocked mini-bar. At the time of writing, most of the drinks were around 3 euros. The only negative here was the lack of tea and coffee being provided.
On the right was the bathroom - a decent size with a 3/4 length bath and rainfall type shower. Shampoo/shower gel is supplied in a wall-mounted dispenser above the bath, and complimentary toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, and shower cap were also provided along with plenty of thick cotton towels.
The main part of the room was large, with a dinner table, coffee table, chairs, flat screen TV (international channels available), side tables, and two large single beds (which had been pushed together for some reason). Blackout curtains were also present. The bed was very comfortable, and the room's air conditioning was...
Read moreComing from United States for a business trip to Spain, I stayed in this hotel for over 2 weeks. I would say the concept of having a mini kitchen and to have like kind of studio as hotel room is good there are some issues that I will point out. First, The beds were comfortable, Air conditioner good, also receptionist and employees that work there were mostly friendly. The hotel is in good area, which is a plus. My only issue was about the smell that comes through the drainage at certain time in the bathroom, it was disgusting but is not the only hotel with that issue. I think is happening in many hotels around the city of Madrid, cause drainage is old. The breakfast was ok but with not many variety. I was at one point that I didn't even want to go down in morning to have breakfast because was really tired of the same thing. No many fruits options, lots of bakery. The cost of the hotel per night can get really high, higher than 5 star hotels. This don't reflect the real value of what you get as guest in the hotel. In my opinion, the hotel is good for short stays, 1 to 4 days. But make sure you get a room without the issues of the...
