Sooo, is Pattaya Beach getting on your nerves yet? lol. Just kidding. Well, maybe not. This is a beach called Ban Ampur and it is roughly 9 miles from Pattaya. 9 miles might not seem very far but it is miles away and very different than Pattaya Beach.

First, I did not see many foreigners. Maybe only 3, including myself. I found this very nice as I tend to avoid places frequented by foreigners. As a result, the beach did not offer any weed shops, go go bars and strip clubs. I love this. Second, Ban Ampur beach is very quiet and peaceful. You do not hear the loud motorcycles racing down the street, car horns, and ambulances. You hear a calming breeze, lovely ocean waves coming ashore, children laughing and playing, and the birds singing as happy as can be.

Third, the locals are warm and friendly. As a foreigner, I did not see the local people trying to sell me many things are treat me special. They just minded their business and did not really pay me any mind. What was really neat is that a few of the locals had camper vans and vans that they were camping out of. They setup hammocks, chairs, and cooking sets and were just relaxing under the palm trees. Such a nice family friendly setup.

Fourth, the public restrooms here are pretty cool. Very clean, well maintained and easily accessed by all people. So you should not have a problem when nature calls.

If you walk towards town, you will see this is a local fishing village with many boats and fishermen. I found this very unique and took many pictures of the boats, the fisherman and local houses. The houses seem like old river-front homes on skinny stilt legs. I even saw a 7 foot Komodo dragon under one of the houses! It looked just like a modern day dinosaur. So very cool.

I ended up walking from Pattaya to Ban Ampur and I do not recommend walking. If you take a Grab, its 130 bhat and totally worth it. I took the grab going back.

Der Strand liegt ca. 10km südlich von Pattaya und in 15 min. mit dem Moped zu erreichen. Es gibt ein paar Strand Betreiber die essen und trinken anbieten. Die Strand Betten mit Auflage kosten 80 Baht. Es gibt auch viel frei Flächen wo man nur mit Handtuch liegen kann. Es gibt auch ein paar reihen mit coconut Palmen die auch Schatten spenden. Der Strand könnte aber besser gepflegt sein. Ich war vor 2 Jahren schon mal hier und da war es sauberer. Direkt am Wasser war der Strand sehr schmutzig und den könnten die Betreiber leicht entfernen. Leider ist das in Thailand viel zu oft an den Stränden so. Die Betreiber sollten schon mal etwas umdenken so das sich die Touristen nicht vom verschmutzten Strand unwohl fühlen und dafür mehr Sorge tragen den Strand mehr sauberer zu halten. Und die wenigen Touristen wird's wohl nicht stören. Aber das könnte auch ein Grund sein warum der Strand nicht besser besucht ist. Das ist der Strand am anfang von Jomtien sauberer und besser gepflegt. Das schöne hier am Strand ist es fahren keine störendend Bote oder jetskys herum. Bei der Planung des Standes hätten sie noch ein paar reihen Palmen mehr anpflanzen können. Aber es gibt trotzdem 4 Sterne wegen der friedlichen Ruhe die man hier hat und nicht alle 5 min.
