So I'd been coming to Thailand since the mid oughts, and I thought I knew Thailand. I'd fly in to Suvarnabhumi with an overnight bag, head straight to Khao San road, drink until the bus arrived and then overnight to Koh Phangan for Special Shakes and drunken Full Moon parties. But it wasn't until I visited a friend living in Thonglor that I really saw Thailand and Bangkok for the modern, cosmopolitan, fashionable, confident and fun place it really is. The Commons is all those adjectives and more. A 3 floor Food Hall slash commercial space in Bangkok's hipster Thonglor neighborhood, with indoor/outdoor seating, nightly entertainment, and community events, this where I take out-of-towners for a first catch-up, or need to accommodate a variety of tastes, or more likely, can't be bothered deciding on another spot. There's a craft beer spot, a wine importer, and a couple of great cocktail bars, as well as a variety of food vendors offering - among many others - great Turkish food, Nashville hot chicken burgers, Maine lobster rolls, Singaporean Yum Cha, Taiwanese desserts, bagels, artisanal coffee, and more. With its great location, awesome F&B selection, and excellent opportunity for people watching, it's my go-to place for a casual drink, and friendly bite, and an epic hang.

🌿🍴 Urban Oasis: Culinary and Cultural Delights at theCOMMONS 🌆💫 theCOMMONS in Bangkok is a vibrant urban retreat, a perfect 'refill station' during city explorations. This architectural marvel, designed with open spaces and mini gardens, offers an airy and welcoming atmosphere. 🌳🏢 Each level unfolds a new experience. The ground floor buzzes with activity, ideal for fitness enthusiasts or those seeking a casual stroll. The second level is a food lover's paradise, boasting a diverse range of eateries like The Lobster Lab and Fowlmouth, alongside cozy spots like Sugarray Apartment and VIVI Tuscan Kitchen. 🍔🍤 The upper levels provide breathtaking city views, perfect for unwinding with a bite or a drink in hand. theCOMMONS isn't just about dining; it's a hub for art and music, hosting events that showcase local talents. 🎨🎵 The mix of delicious food options, cultural activities, and relaxing open spaces makes theCOMMONS more than just a shopping center; it's a place to recharge, connect, and experience the best of urban Bangkok. 🌟🛍️ I found the ambiance, variety of offerings, and the sense of community here truly remarkable, making it a standout destination in Bangkok.

The COMMONS is what I would call a hipster place, given the vibes, industrial design and loads of amazing food options. Yet that would be doing a disservice to the place as it serves as a breathing space for the residents and locals in the area to gather and spend quality time together. The ample seating places are airy so you won't feel like you're baking in the Bangkok heat and has that communal feel, like you could share spaces and make friends with anyone. It's a place to hang out, chill, see and be seen. There aren't many shops and the F&B outlets far outnumber the non-F&B outlets. Roast, at the top floor is worth the travel to The COMMONS, though they have another outlet at Emquartier. Food wise I've only eaten at each outlet once so can't make much of a comparison but the decor at their outlet at The COMMONS is so much more chill and laid back, it reminds me of the cafes in Melbourne. Oh, yea... You do get some nice photos here too.😘

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Common, a vibrant open-space shopping mall that truly embodies a delightful Western vibe. From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the inviting atmosphere and the array of options available.

The mall features a fantastic bar and a charming coffee shop, perfect for unwinding after a busy day of shopping. The coffee shop serves a delightful selection of beverages, making it an ideal spot to relax and recharge.

One of the highlights of my visit was the variety of pop-up stores, each offering unique and trendy items that you won’t find elsewhere. It's a great way to discover local artisans and small businesses while exploring new fashion trends and accessories.

Families will love the spacious playground designed for both pets and children. It’s a wonderful place where kids can play freely while pets enjoy some outdoor fun. The family-friendly environment makes it a perfect outing for everyone.

On the ground floor, there’s a well-stocked supermarket that caters to all your grocery needs. Whether you’re looking for fresh produce or specialty items, you’ll find it all here.

For those interested in wellness and self-care, The Common boasts a fully equipped gym and an impressive selection of medical beauty services. It’s fantastic to see a place that prioritizes health and beauty, making it easy to fit in a workout or a pampering session during your shopping trip.

Additionally, the mall offers a great selection of clothing and swimwear, catering to all styles and preferences. Whether you’re preparing for a beach getaway or just want to refresh your wardrobe, you’re sure to find something that suits your taste.

Overall, The Common is more than just a shopping destination; it’s a community hub that brings people together. The combination of shopping, dining, and leisure activities creates an enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages. I highly recommend checking it out—you won’t be...
