Cheapest way to get to Koh Larn island. You also have the option to take speed boats here, but they are far more expensive, and the ride is bumpier.
Ferry rides cost 30 baht/head. Nothing more and nothing less. Tickets are available very easily, right outside the boat. No need to pre-book anything, even during peak seasons. Do not book any ticket from the touts outside, asking for 50/80/100 baht... They are just trying to cheat you. Just enter the pier, with your luggage and walk towards the far end. You'll see a couple of ferry boats berthed, with big sign boards, indicating they are plying on the Pattaya - Koh Larn route. Just walk to the boat, buy tickets (only cash), from the official agent outside, and hop in. There is no extra charge for carrying luggage.
There are 2 different ferry routes to Koh Larn. Naban and Ta Waen beach. Unless your hotel is in Ta Waen beach, try and catch the Naban one. You have more options/eateries/scooty rentals there.
Don't bother with the ferry timings posted. They are almost never followed, atleast for the Naban route. The boats fill up quickly and leave right away. Incase you miss one, don't worry. The next one will leave within 20 or 30 minutes.
Life jackets are given to everyone on board. Despite being a comparatively bigger boat, the ride is still bumpy (specially after 2 pm). So those with very weak sea legs, do keep that in mind!
Overall, a very smooth and hassle free option to travel.
Definitely try it without...
