Newyork Newyork Hairstudio Bangkok — Attraction in Phaya Thai Subdistrict

UPDATE: The salon offered to make things right, so my wife went in for a "fix." Mill, the senior stylist, took over and made corrections to the original botched cut and dye from about 1 month ago. I was relieved to see my wife happy with the results — and I must say she looks great. Just wish she didn't have to go that first round of trauma. AWFUL. First of all, I didn't get the haircut my wife did. She is in the other room in tears because Pandy the stylist who did her hair this morning completely butchered it. My wife has been gifted with gorgeous thick, wavy, high-volume hair since we met in high school. All she asked for was a trim and Pandy removed some length but over 60% of the volume!!! It's terrible! She did not let my wife's voluminous natural hair come through, but instead made it into a style that she thought would be good. Even the coloring is off — there's a weird blond zebra stripe right in the center of her head, like a mohawk. There is nothing natural about this style. For full transparency, my wife is caucasian. The style she got is something that would only look passing on an Asian person — like a cutesy anime character. It simply doesn't work. I do not recommend this place AT ALL. I had a magical makeover here today! My hair was super dry and damaged and the stylist I was working with took so much time to understand what I wanted to get out of my visit. She spend roughly 5 hours on me... bleaching, colouring, cutting. She and the whole team made me feel very relaxed and welcome...tea, water, a super nice hand massage by a very nice lady who made sure I was comfortable during my whole visit. Products that were used were high quality. Studios is clean and well decorated. Everyone speaks English very well and wants to make sure you leave the studio with a good feeling. You can definitely trust to find good quality work here! Better then what I've experienced from salons in the US and Europe. I'm more then happy with the result!! Worth every penny!
