I came to this place after thoroughly researching online for the best restaurant to experience Southern Thai cuisine, which I had never tried before despite having visited Thailand several times. I found it recommended in a Reddit post and decided to try it.
When we arrived, together with a Thai friend who loves Southern cuisine, I immediately liked the vibe, the warm welcome from the staff, and the large, beautiful photographic menu. What followed was even better.
We tried four dishes, all new to me, accompanied by beer and a cocktail. Each dish was delicious in its own way, and I honestly couldn’t decide which one I liked the most when my friend asked. I enjoyed them all, bite after bite. The range of sourness, spiciness, flavor intensity, textures, and aromas kept me delightfully engaged for about an hour and a half. Meanwhile, the staff was attentive and thoughtful. They came by frequently to answer our questions, refill our glasses, and make sure we were happy with everything.
In the end, we were both very satisfied. The bill was reasonable, and when we asked, they recommended an excellent wine bar next door for a final drink before sleep, which we also enjoyed. I will definitely return here and can recommend this place...
Read moreWe went there as an substitute as the restaurant we wanted to go was full. This place turned out to be a modern Southern Thai-food restaurant, so bear in mind that the dishes are mostly spicy(very spicy) especially for the curry/soup dishes. The taste of each dish is having rather strong and so in a way it impresses you at the first bite, but later you might feel thirsty or bored... we would have liked to try Khao Yam (salad rice) if it doesn't take that long to prepare though.
We ordered pork stew in soy sauce which has a positive unusal taste here with extra amount of blackpepper that spicy the flavour up; the soft and chewy pork skin(collegen) in this dish is rather rare and tasty here.
Crab curry soup with vermicelli is nice, but just too spicy even we ordered less spicy at the first place... but it wasn't their fault, this dish is supposed to be spicy... it did taste good but it made my tummy tumbled til the night.
The signature dish with the BBQ shish with red sweet sauce wasn't impressed us mu h and it did taste too sweet for me personally.
If you are a foreigner or tourist, I would recommend you to try the green veggie stired fried with egg, which is another famous southern dish that we...
Read morePak Nang serves southern Thai cuisines according to its menu. My Thai friend brought us to this place. It is a pretty restaurant with lots of colorful paintings that made me feels cozy and comfy. The drinks served in different colors and interesting ingredients that is quite refreshing. They made an effort to serve them pretty with flowers too. We ordered the crab with yellow chillies which turned out to be tasty and spicy hot at the same times. The second dish was the Thai salad with colored glass noodles served with mince meat, prawns, squids, dried shrimps and little green chillies. The third dish was black pepper chicken curry. One need to have a super tongue to take this as it was super hot and spicy. It is mainly cooked with tumeric and young black pepper stork. The spiciness nearly kill my taste bud. The last dish was eggs fried with Mejolin leaves. The soft texture of the mejolin trees and scramble eggs made a perfect match. i really enjoyed this dish! The menu is pretty extensive and not the normal thai dishes we had normally. even the curry served are different as well. It is definitely worth a try if you want to try something different. The price is on the...
