Hua Hin is one those amazing places worth to visit for kitesurfing, but there are some things you need to be aware of before coming! First of all, it is a great location to learn to kitesurf since the winds are not too strong here, which normally vary from 8 to 15 knots, and rarely to 20. I did't see any windsurfers there neither, wich means the winds are not enough for them, but at the same time they are just perfect not to be blown away for beginners.
Secondly, as in any other place, the windy season lasts some period of time only, and for Hua Hin it is from late October till late March, normally, however many people kitesurf all year round here when conditions allow. I was there in February and the winds already were not stable, with several days of no wind windows. But still out of 20 days, 15 were perfect to kitesurf which is a good indication. Third thing is jelly fish. The water is very warm, but you still need a light suite againts jelly fish, they are quite everywhere. I didn't suffer from none of them, cause I covered the feet completely, but I know some people were hurt even in the suites, but bare foot. So I highly recommend to cover your feet and hands, specially if you are beginner and might stay in water longer then others.
Also, in many kitesurfing spots the beach visitors normally disturb the beginners in kitesurfing, cause it is pretty dangerous for swimmers and kitesurfers the entering to the sea area if it is full of people. Kite may fall just on their heads from 20-30 meters hight.. But at this beach, the swimmers are far way from the kitesurfers what makes it a safe and peaceful place.
It is very easy to get here, but it takes about 2 and a half hours by taxi and 3 and a half hours by bus. The road are very good though, nothing to worry about on the way.
Have a great great time in this...

Located just 2 hours by train from The capital city of Bangkok, Hua Hin offers the beauty of exotic tropical beach without all the crowds. From the Beach, if you gaze off into the horizon, you will see the kings majestic battleships guarding his vacation home there. As you walk down a path towards the Beach, local vendors and shops line the way. Beach toys, shells, painted art animals made of shells, books, food and many other trinkets to buy. The police station almost touches the sand. Once you reach the beautiful beach, let your eyes adjust to the sun, and the scene before you is amazing. Rock formations, battleships, multiple horses, shells, palm trees, and beautiful, warm, clean waves fill your sight as soon as you bury your bare toes in the white, fine grained sand. The locals hide under umbrellas or trees for the most part, so the beach is fairly empty except for a few other tourists. This is definitely the place to go if you would like the Asian beach experience but not the high tourist price tag. Most hotels around Hua Hin will run between $15 and $30 a night, a restaurant meal costs about $3 to $9. Travel around Hua Hin can be done by walking, taxi cab, song tao(a pickup truck thats been covered and modified with 2 benches and handrails. Even the most expensive form of transportation can be as cheap as $15 for an hours ride. The tuk tuk drivers operate mopeds with cartiages attached to the back, and prices vary greatly with how you present yourself. Tuktuk drivers will generally go lower if you start to walk away. Tuk tuk drivers are also like the mafia in Thailand, they can get or find ANYTHING from Aspirin to Marijuana. Ladyboys, drugs, alcohol and parties seem to be...
Read moreThis beach is very quiet in low season(usually about end of July to October or thai rainy season) I came to this beach as my summer holiday and the shops are so quiet. It is so quiet that they said that they hardly sell any products all day. They also said that the business is tough when it's very quiet. So if you're a tourist I recommend you to bargain your price before you buy because they might rise the prices up and hope that you would buy it. The sellers and local are very nice and friendly. There are lots of restaurants with different options and cuisines to choose from American, Italian, Thai, French, Japanese they got it all!!! There are very nice gifts along the street but some gifts are made out of shell so I recommend you to consider bringing some bubble wrap or something to cushion so it wouldn't break in your luggage. The beach has a very nice scenery(very photogenic for snapchat or Instagram) and there are food made by local people along the beach at a local price too. If you want to try something new I recommend get your food from the small stand instead of getting your food in the restaurants. There are lots of activities to do and facilities such as volleyball net and horses to ride on the beach. The beach have soft white sand and it is very clean for a tourist destination. Even there are horses on the beach I couldn't see any horse mess on the beach. There are seats for rent with parasol but I think the price is too high for a seat. Overall, hua hin as a whole is very nice and clean. There is not much to do but there are lots to see for all ages. This is a good place to relax with your family or just for a...
