Kanchi Thai food, Seafood, Vegan and Vegetarian — Restaurant in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

NOT GREAT.. BUT... We went in to this restaurant mostly due to the extensive menu which frankly is huge and in part possibly why my low honest rating was relevant tonight. It didn't start well once we were seated and a table of 3 were being quiet vocal about the food & service but I put that down to the people themselves at first, however looking around at the many tables waiting with disgruntled faces and the food being brought to other tables that wasn't the correct orders etc and the stressed staff it soon become apparent all wasn't great. However, our orders came reasonably quickly which gave the other disgruntled folk even more to show disdain at whilst they were still waiting, some even leaving without receiving their orders. Our food was frankly bland, tasteless and certainly not fresh and I eat anything, literally. My Thai partner however, loves food (as most Thai's do) and she was far from pleased. It tasted old, dry and even with sauces /spices etc just was in all honestly very poor for Thailand. Due to so many folk walking out having not received their food or leaving most of what they did receive I did ask on paying the bill if they had a problem in the kitchen, we got a semi sketchy answer that only 1 chef was on duty and they had a lot of customers, normally they apparently have 4 chefs??

So to give some credit to this restaurant based on other reviews I can't say tonight's experience is the normal situation but either way they certainly didn't manage the customers expectations even with low staff numbers.

Unfortunately we will never return regardless of staffing as there are so many amazing restaurants in Thailand and in my 23 years here this is quite possibly the blandest tasting food I've ever had. I hope things...

I visited this restaurant, drawn in by its high rating of 4.7, hoping to enjoy a meal with vegetarian options. However, my experience was disappointing. While the staff assured us that any dish could be made vegetarian, we found that the menu didn't clearly list any vegetarian selections.

We specifically requested no onion, garlic, MSG, and mushrooms, but the quality of the food did not meet our expectations. The mixed vegetables were acceptable, but the rice was partly spoiled, and the complimentary soup tasted heavily of MSG, which my non-vegetarian friend noted as well.

Moreover, given the high prices, I felt the meal was not worth it, and I would not recommend this place for vegetarians. If you're looking for better vegetarian dining options, there are three vegetarian restaurants nearby at Chatchai Market that are open from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. I won't be...

#BADAlienKitchen&Travel gives Kanchi a galactic high five! Great food! The noodle soup was exactly what we needed. The delicious clear broth reminds me of Pho. The freshness of the ingredients was apparent, and they substituted vegetables instead of meat without issue. They also gave us trials of their fried skins and free watermelon slices for dessert. Don't forget to get the fresh coconut, it is frozen and brought to you icy cold. It's a great way to cool down! Prices could be a little cheaper, but I will go back for sure! A must stop while in Hua Hin.
