Nak-La Mookata at MBK Center has quickly become a popular dining spot for those looking to experience Thai-style hotpot and barbecue with a modern twist. What sets this place apart isn’t just the flavorful food but also the innovative and convenient dining experience it offers.
The first thing you notice when stepping into Nak-La Mookata is the well-designed yet simple interior. Located in MBK Center — one of the busiest shopping malls in Bangkok — the restaurant features a contemporary style with warm tones and spacious seating. Despite being a hotpot and barbecue spot, the restaurant is equipped with a well-functioning ventilation system, so you don’t have to worry about walking out smelling like smoke. The tables and chairs are thoughtfully arranged to provide a sense of privacy and comfort, even during peak hours.
What truly makes Nak-La Mookata stand out is its modern and efficient service. Instead of the usual method of ordering from a waiter, you simply scan a QR code at your table, select the dishes you want from the menu, and wait for a cute little robot to deliver your order right to your table. Watching the robot maneuver through the tables with trays of fresh meat and vegetables is both fascinating and amusing, adding a fun, high-tech element to the overall dining experience.
The menu at Nak-La Mookata is fairly simple. The meats — including beef, pork, and chicken — are not marinated, which allows you to enjoy the natural flavor of the ingredients or customize the taste with the variety of sauces available at the self-service station. The free self-service station offers vegetables, glass noodles, and dipping sauces.
The staff at Nak-La Mookata are polite and attentive. They’re always ready to help if you need assistance with the grill or the ordering process. Even when the restaurant is busy, the staff maintain a friendly and professional attitude, ensuring that your dining experience is pleasant from start to finish.
A small downside is that the restaurant only accepts card payments for bills over 500 THB. While this might be inconvenient for some, the overall experience more than makes up for this minor issue.

Nak-La Mookata @ MBK Center 2nd Floor 🔥 Nak-La Mookata 🔥 This branch at MBK Center is located on the 2nd floor, super convenient and close to the National Stadium BTS station. It's easy to find and the restaurant has a modern, clean design with a nice atmosphere. They also have smoke ventilators at every table so you don't have to worry about your clothes smelling like BBQ. 💨
🥓 Menu & Taste:
They offer both set menus and a la carte options. The ingredients are fresh, high-quality and there's a wide variety to choose from - pork, beef, seafood, meatballs, vegetables, and more. And the best part? The dipping sauces! They have several different sauces to choose from, including suki sauce, seafood sauce, and jaew (spicy dipping sauce). Each one is delicious and flavorful. 😋
🥬 Vegetable & Sauce Bar:
One of my favorite things about this place is the all-you-can-eat vegetable and sauce bar! 🥬🌶️ You can load up on as many fresh veggies as you want, and there are several different dipping sauces to try.
💰 Price:
The price is quite reasonable and good value for the quality. Sets start at around 279 baht. Compared to some of the other popular mookata chains, this place is a great deal!
📢 Cons:
It can get very crowded, especially in the evenings, so be prepared to wait. I recommend making a reservation or coming early. Sometimes the service can be a bit slow because it's so busy. 🌟 Overall:
Overall, I really enjoyed Nak-La Mookata. The dipping sauces are delicious, the ingredients are fresh, the price is reasonable, and the vegetable and sauce bar is a huge plus. If you love mookata, you should definitely...
Read moreWent here with girlfriend as not had a Thai BBQ for a few years. We were told the queue was an hour but you don't need to wait there, they give you a QR code, scan that and it will update with an estimated wait time, go back when there's a few minutes left. We had the pork set for 1-2 people and then a few extra pork plates. In case you don't know how it works - Get your noodles, cabbage, sweetcorn and other veg from the self service area and your dips (huge selection that you can mix with other things like garlic and chilli) add water to the the tray in the table, melt the fat on your BBQ and then cook your meat on that so fat drips in to the broth, cook the veg and noodles in the broth too. Take what you want once it's properly cooked and enjoy. Had a jug of Lipton's ice tea and girlfriend had 2 green teas. Total bill was around 600 baht, we could barely move afterwards so...
