We stopped by Trinidad on a port visit aboard the Royal Caribbean Rhapsody of the Seas November 2022. We had this grand idea of walking from the Port of Spain to the popular Fredericks Street to Queen's Park Savannah. We did that and we can honestly say we had an adventure of a lifetime going through the modern part of the city, passing through food places with the best food ever in the Caribbean, shops where there is high crime that one person is standing on a high stool to look for potential shoplifters, walking by the Museum and Performing Arts Centre to finally getting to the Park all drenched from a tropical rainstorm. After all of this, a wonderful cab driver saved us from the most torrential downpour, showed us the city and got us to the ship on time. Wanting to share the most beautiful pictures of Queen's Park Savannah during our walk before the rainstorm, during and after. This is such a gorgeous park. Pictures are unedited. So many shades of green .. ...

A beautiful expanse of grass and trees, with hollows and flats. A food truck area especially active in evening and an area with sno-cone and coconut vendors lined along the way where you can get a refreshing coconut water or shaved ice. Numerous beautiful and historic sites as you traverse around. Within, there is is the carnival area with the grand stand and north stand where masqueradors go through for judging at carnival times but the area is also used for other cultural activities throughout the year. I think the perimeter of this Savannah is about 3 to 4 km. I plan to walk it one day and actually measure it myself. 😅a bucket item list for me, that hundreds of people do daily. Located in uptown Port of Spain. During carnival time there are many craft and food booths. I visited a few and uploaded the pictures here.

Its one of the best spots to relax and enjoy the outdoors in Port of Spain. It’s huge, open, and great for a walk, jog, or just lounging around. The area is well-kept, with plenty of green space and beautiful views, especially in the evenings when the sun starts to set. I also attended a yoga session there, and it was a great experience. The peaceful atmosphere and open space made it the perfect setting to unwind and connect with nature. It’s a popular spot for families, fitness enthusiasts, or anyone just looking to relax. There are also lots of food vendors around, so you can grab a quick bite or drink while enjoying the view.

It's the World's Largest Roundabout !!! Probably the nicest natural space in all of Port of Spain. Best to go here when it's cooler for a walk around the Savannah or visit the nearby zoo. Good for outdoor activities but there is no covering, shelter or structures for the average user to enjoy. There is one or two public restrooms for convenience but they are far apart. There are many park benches and a few areas to buy coconuts for a drink. I would be wary of activities later than 7pm. Transport is usually easy to get around the Savannah most hours.

Took a little sit down after walking for miles to get there with the band. Carnival, what a feeling, nothing quite like that experience can compare to it, wow.
