Magical Winter Wonderland Event. I love Duthie Park and Winter Gardens. I have spent many hours wondering around or just sitting reading, then introducing my daughter when she was days old it has always been a go to place and more special now after she got married there. Tonight it was a truly magical night all a light with the darkness outside as a adult I loved it and wonderful to watch children to the elderly and all ages in between having fun. A Magical Family night it was great before going in to have a coffee and no waiting at the door. I have moblity problems and use, a walker some of dips and slopes a struggle now but plenty chairs to rest. Staff were lovely by end I had slowed down and was last out but in no way did I feel rushed I was encouraged to take my time and that was much appreciated. I can recommend this event if it hopefully comes back in 2024 I can not recommended the David Welch Winter Gardens and Duthie Park highly enough whatever your age or moblity needs there is something for everyone and a much loved place for local folk to visit which in itself speaks volumes. Read moreA wonerful attraction located within the impressive Duthie Park close to Aberdeen centre. The gardens are enclosed within a series of linked glazed greenhouses. From the moment you walk in through main entrance you see wonderful colour even in January when I went. Also the sound of flowing water from the indoor streams add to the experience. You are guided round by following indoor footpaths back to the start. Highlights are the house with an incredible array of cacti. Other areas with probably different atmosphere control almost feel tropical. Some sections are staff only which are set aside to grow on young plants etc. Fantastic attraction, completely free & well worth spending an hour to do a full circuit or even more to read all the information boards more closely. Plenty of clean WC's & adjoining cafe/restaurant which I didn't sample. Highly recommended especially on a cold, wet...
