Booked a table for my wife and i for an early dinner on a Friday night. I'm vegan and she is vegetarian, but as is often the case, she is equally happy going full vegan with me if we are sharing dishes. I knew there were vegan and vegetarian options as i had previously looked at the menu online. Looking at the starters and main courses, i could see at least six options open to me. Some were hidden under vegetarian with 'vegan option available' in the description, so please read the menu properly. However, my experience of smaller venues like this, is they are often happy to adjust dishes to make them vegan and this places was no different. A quick conversation with the very attentive staff member who served us and i had made up my mind - a full meze for both of us of the chefs choice. Do what they wanted as long as it was vegan. I stupidly never kept note of the total amount of dishes we had but it was at least ten of both cold and hot offerings. Absolutely delicious. Full marks to the chef(s). I was stuffed. I was asked if i wanted sweet and noting that there wasn't a vegan option on the menu, asked of there was such an option. Expecting the usual fruit sorbet option, i was encouraged by their response that they had both vegan chocolate cake and vanilla cheesecake. Evidence again that not everything is on the menu. Unfortunately that meant i had to try both. My wife had the chocolate cake and i had the vanilla cheesecake, the intention obviously to share. Both were delicious and both were devoured and neither were shared! Perfect portion size to ensure it was all eaten. My wife had two glasses (175ml) of Turkish Cabernet Sauvignon and i had two ice cold bottles (500ml) of Effe draft. Total bill (August 2025) £66. Excellent value for money considering what we had in total. I'll definitely be back. My only constructive criticism is the walls in the premises are crying out for various pictures, art, ornaments, Vine leaves or whatever to give the place just a bit more zing to the relatively boring decor. If they do that, they've got a gold mine on their hands....
Read moreI had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever encountered at this restaurant. I arrived with my fully task-trained assistance dog and was immediately refused service by staff who kept referring to my assistance animal as pet. At the time, only three tables in the entire restaurant were taken, yet they made up an excuse that they were “expecting a lot of people to come in.” It became obvious that the decision came from the owner, who instructed them to turn us away.
This behaviour is not only discriminatory but also unlawful under the Equality Act 2010, which protects the rights of disabled people and their assistance dogs. Being refused service in this way left me upset, and it should never have happened.
Restaurants that exclude disabled customers do not deserve community support. I will never return here, and I strongly encourage others to think twice before giving business to a place that openly discriminates rather than welcoming all customers with dignity...
Read moreVisited for first time today. Quiet for a Sat and were greeted by a friendly member of staff who offered us to sit anywhere that was in unoccupied. Menu was very comprehensive for a light lunch or a main meal. Caters for veggies as well as meat eaters. I can recommend the hot and cold meze if you're hungry!! It's a number of dishes along with their lovely home baked bread. And when I say bread, it doesn't do it justice, delicious. Even do alcohol free beer and cider if it's a lunch visit during a working day. I've had a few mezes in restaurants in Aberdeen and this one is as good as others where you'd pay far more for a comparible meal. Parking on Holborn St. isn't great but there's always a spot in the...
