The Bond — Attraction in Birmingham

This was my first visit to the Bond Company location, and specifically to the Waterside premises. It is within close proximity of the Bull Ring Shopping centre, but in an industrially depressed area with lots of old, empty and derelict factory and commercial buildings.

The approach to the building is awe-inspiring, with its cobbled street, Victorian architecture and carefully restored steel features incorporated with touches of modernity (nice, bright lighting and large, new canopy, painted in striking white).

My visit was twofold – Firstly, to attend a business presentation run by a local communications company at the venue and secondly, by chance to visit the Bond Company Café.

The presentations were held in a single room, which was bright, airy, refurbished with traditional/original wooden beams and with stunning views of the canal next to it. The different parts of the building are clearly signposted and this is a great venue to hold meetings, conferences and as I have heard from the Staff, weddings too.

The second part of my visit involved a short excursion to the Café, which the Staff recommended to me. Since I was rushed for time, I had a cup of tea, which was properly brewed and a piece of cake, which was delicious. Prices were reasonable and the Staff couldn't have been more courteous and friendly.

I have to commend the operators of this venue for having the foresight and vision to create modern, in-demand businesses and services in this location and for revitalising and regenerating this building. Hopefully, there will be further re-development of similar sites in this area in the future. I do look forward to returning in the future for another conference or for simply ‘popping’...

The Best Wedding Venue! We could not recommend this venue enough! We fell in love with the place as soon as we saw it. It is a beautiful hidden gem in the city with the canals running right through it. We really wanted a venue we could decorate and make our own and the bond is perfect for this. It has an amazing outdoor area too which was great because we had amazing weather! It is a perfect city venue! Just the right amount of quirky and fun, but also has lots of traditional wedding elements too! The staff are absolutely incredible from all the initial meetings to all their hard work coordinating on the day. We would like to thank Izzy and Barbora in particular, who had made the whole process so easy. From organising all the on-the-day vendors, to making sure I had my flats when I needed them! Their expertise, friendliness and professionalism made the whole day run so smoothly. In fact, all the staff on the day were amazing and really made us and our guests have the best time! The food, canapes and drinks were also all delicious and our guests were all very complimentary. We will definitely be back for all the other events they have here. We were initially recommended The Bond for our wedding by our friend, and photographer, Greg Milner. It was the only venue we saw and we knew immediately it was the one for us.

All couples are looking for “their” venue and The Bond couldn’t have been more “us”.

We love Digbeth. The creative, urban vibe, mixed with amazing graffiti and the canal. The Bond has all of those things in abundance.

Working with Izzy and Barbora to arrange the wedding was seamless. The communication was excellent, also letting us bring family to tour around the venue a few times to scope everything out.

The Bond team were attentive, understanding and appreciative of what we were looking for from the start. As one of us is vegetarian (and dislikes goat cheese), the team offered alternative suggestions that were exactly what we were looking for.

We decided to go with Toastelicious for the evening guests and it went down a storm with day guests as well!

We didn’t encounter any issues whatsoever – the team were so on it, they anticipated our requests before we had!

We couldn’t be happier with our decision to use The Bond for our wedding venue. We’re only sad we won’t be working with the team again (renewing the vows in 10 years...
