I’ve been to the place 3 times. The first time was a bit of a overwhelming experience as they had a few personalities in the building the second time was an absolute disgraceful experience as I had ordered food and it had taken them 45 mins (Yes I always time) to just bring a water of water to the table and almost an hour since I ordered food they informed me that they didn’t have the options I had ordered left.
So I never went back thinking that if the chef can not anticipate how much food is required or not know when to stop taking orders for a certain dish then the place really needs help.
After 4 years I decided to pay the place another visit. Luckily the place was very quite with around 13 tables.
The experience was great though there was no one at the top of the ramp to greet us. We sat down fairly quickly.
We ordered 3 cheese burgers and a few Shisha plus a slice of cake with sparklers for a friends birthday.
The burgers were amazing and in fact out of many Shisha lounges I have ate at I can say that this place has the best food (burgers) for a Shisha lounge. They were juicy, a very decent size, freshly prepared and very well presented.
Shisha had a few smoking issues but they were quickly resolved by the lads.
The sparklers has finished so I had to wait 39 mins for the slice of cake to be brought out. After the cake came out I went over to the counter after 10 mins and wanted to embarrass my friend more so I requested two more sparklers to be sent to the table which I was willing to pay for but their policies said that’s not allowed. ( never knew illegal Shisha lounges have policies too). I would have understood if the place was busy and short staffed but it was very quite and I was willing to pay for an entire pack of sparklers and only want them to bring out 2 and considering I had already spent over a £100 between 6 people it was a small ask.
Very cosy environment with open seats as well booths for larger groups. Music choice was very good too. The toilets were clean and maintained.
I would say there are a few design elements which also act as trio hazards so be aware of your stepping if you are sitting at the back end of the lounge in big booths.
There is parking available on the street to and if also say that the place needs to crowd manage a bit better and not let juveniles in. There were around 14 young lads in and out of the booth next to us between I’d say about 2 or 3 Shishas. And the fact the music in the place was very loud we could hear them clearly. It was almost like they were fighting talking in each other’s faces but I guess that part of...
Read moreHere is a real review. I follow Amir Khan on Instagram, and hence decided to visit this restaurant on his recommendation. First impressions - from outside it did not look all that. When I entered the place, I was wowed with the decor. After being seated, we ordered our food. It took 30mins for starters to arrive. Then mains came 15mins after.
I actually do not want to give this restaurant, even one star, but have to, as it will not let me review it.
This was by far the worst place I have ever been to. If your looking for flashing lights, music to burst you ear drums and a nice decor this is for you. If your looking for a decent restaurant to eat, with good service and Shisha, then forget about it. You rather stay at home and eat your mother's food, as the food, service and staff, was dreadful.
Customer service didn't exist. No one knew what's going on. We booked a special reservation and got seated in a corner away from the VIP area! When asked would you move us, the member of staff stopped coming to our table to ignore our request. Orders were all wrong. Food had no taste. Starter, which was the Platter for 2, was ok. The mains we left which was the chicken skewer with spicy rice and chicken breast with spicy rice and chips, as both dishes were tasteless and absolute awful. Shisha was dry as hell and had no taste. The charcoal staff were not even around to exchange the charcoal. They came once in 2 hrs. When it came to pay we waited 30 minutes for someone to come to our table with the bill, till we decided we should get up and ask for the bill ourself. We were then told go to the bar and pay there. When we tried to complain about our service there was a non existent response. After paying we were given our receipt, to which I wanted to complain the next day in writing, to the Restaurant owner. However, when I got to the door the demeaning security guard, shouted out, "I want your receipt", leaving me with no proof of dining. There was no thank you or please come again, not that we want to.
This is a back street place, run by an unprofessional management team. They are using Amir Khan to promote their business, to make people like myself travel from as far as London, to dine in this appalling place.
Management - if you are reading this, you need to get your place in order as fancy lights and a big sponsor name don't make a restaurant. It is very unfair to treat your customers the way we were treated, and the food that was given was not for human consumption.
People who have given this place, anything above 2 stars, are either staff, friends or family. Do...
Read moreTerrible terrible customer service, atmosphere and racist staff OMG! I would rate it -10 stars if I could. I called in the afternoon to book a table for 3, and was told ‘no booking was required’ and it’s completely walk in, which I was fine with. Got there for 9pm, and spoke to the member of staff that was taking down names (didn’t take note of his name, would have included it) he made us aware that they’re fully booked, apparently they take bookings online, which they could have made me aware of when I called to book in.
Anyway, I made him aware of the fact that I’d called in to book and was told that I didn’t need to, he proceeded to say that there’s nothing he can do about it, and we’d have to wait, with 5 groups ahead of us, meaning we’d have to wait for 6 tables to become available. Again we were okay to wait, not happy, but okay. But then my friends and I started noticing something weird, he was moving anyone who was Asian, that came in after us, ahead of us, and at this point several tables, way more than 6 had been freed up and new people seated, this was at 10:15pm, so over an 1hr of waiting. So I called to ask him how many tables we had to wait to become free before we’re tended to, he responded and said ‘THREE’! I was so baffled and couldn’t believe it, he then proceeds to point at some ladies ‘BEHIND’ us and said they came before us, I saw when they walked in🤦🏾♀️. That’s when our assumptions of his racism was confirmed. Even when we spoke to him, he’d be looking everywhere else but at us. But when any Asians came in, he’d go straight to them, all smiley and all. Ofc we walked out after that because that’s bizarre. If you’re of colour, and would like to go to Argeela, I’m not stopping you, but be careful and don’t be surprised if you receive this same experience. I heard they had a whole rebrand, hence why I wanted to go but clearly it’s all a facade. Oh well, sighhhh. Thank goodness we found U wish lounge! Better service, experience and they even had ladies performing for each table, whom we danced with. Absolutely loved everything about it and we...
