I was quite excited to go to this cafe with a friend over the weekend on Sunday. On arrival, a gentleman with glasses served us. We were quite confused because it was our first time here and the menu had changed in the afternoon and he failed to communicate this, it would have been nice for customers to be greeted and settled in to a table, there were many tables available but we stood at entrance for a good 5-8 minutes, few waiters walked past during this time but we were just standing around, it wasnt busy either during this time. Eventually we were taken to the table by the same gentleman however we were sat at a dirty table. Ideally, a table should be cleared and cleaned and then new customers should be asked to sit. It just felt abit uncomfortable as we were just directed to a dirty table for some time, eventually he cleared it after I asked him to. He walked off and we then had to ask for the menu, no menu was provided upon clearing the table. Once we asked for it it looked like the Sunday Roast Menu was on but we were abit confused as we wanted to initially try the All Day Breakfast - we were told by another server that this wasn't on due to the time of the day which is fair enough. We then decided to order two hot drinks and these arrived a good half hour later, chased this up twice and couldn't understand why it took so long to be served hot drinks. While we waited we asked whether there were any pastries to which a female waitress replied "let me go take a photo", we were confused again by this as usually a menu should be provided. We just ended up having 2x pastries which were served a long time after getting our hot drinks. It would have been nice to have had the pastries with the hot drinks, but they were cold by the time we were served. We couldn't understand the delay as the lastries were pre made anyway in display.
Quite disappointed with the service overall, it felt like there was no order in being seen to, we had to ask for our table to be cleaned, we had to ask multiple times for a menu as the guy who sat us down just walked off unfortunately, and it took forever for pastries and hot drinks to come out to us. The staff do need to be trained as there is definitely room for improvement and it would be nice to be welcomed and a hello wouldn't hurt either when ...
Read moreI recently went for Brunch with my friends at this cafe and the service… 10s across the board!! We were late for our reservation by around 10 minutes but there was no fuss when we walked in we were taken straight to our table. We already had a look at the menu online before so we knew what we wanted so we ordered (kitchen for brunch was closing at 2:45) and everything came out soo quick!!
Now where the service really excelled was in the staff. I didn’t get the name of the really lovely girl taking our order but if you suggested the whole ice cream, olive oil and sea salt combination (I haven’t tried it yet but I will!!) just know you really went above and beyond for us that day and we all really appreciated it. The bartender even made me a custom ice tea (which I definitely think should be a menu item because it was DELICIOUS). Another staff member called Fatima also told us that all dishes are freshly made each day like the focaccia bread we were having, and all the dishes are halal too!
The vibes were truly immaculate at this place, such cute interior design it was perfect for a hot summers day. They were also selling (quite big) ice cream cones for only £1.50 with your choice of sauce and toppings?? I mean if you haven’t been sold on the food and staff already at least come for the ice cream.
All in all, I definitely recommend this place for a brunch with anyone. But also I’m planning to go for tapas and sunday roast too as recommended by Fatima because this place can do no wrong in my eyes, it deserves its flowers and I’m regretful to not have tried this place out sooner. I wanna do the opposite of gatekeep with this place l, everyone should try this place out at least once in...
Read moreCame here for a tapas dinner with my best friend after seeing the 3 for £20 offer, which seemed like a fab deal. But once we arrived and read the menu more carefully, we realized that a lot of the items we actually wanted weren’t part of that deal. There’s a tiny star symbol next to certain dishes and anything with a star isn’t included. Unfortunately, most of the seafood and meat options had stars, which was a letdown.
Even though we did spot the £32pp chef’s special, when we asked, we found out the steak we were eyeing wasn’t included in that either. It just made everything feel a bit misleading and confusing. My friend even said that if she’d known earlier, we probably would’ve gone elsewhere.
We ended up ordering from the 3 for £20 menu anyway, and while the selection was limited, the food we did get was actually really tasty! The gambas in particular hit the spot.
Do note: the bread and dessert weren’t included either. We paid extra for both. I didn’t realize the blondie wasn’t part of the offer either but honestly, I probably would’ve paid double because that white chocolate blondie is the reason I came in the first place 😂 and it did not disappoint!
All in all, we left full and happy but it’s just good to know what you’re in for. Would I come again? Maybe, but next time I’d read the fine print...
