Hyperia is an amazing coaster for the sheer height, speed, force and some absolutely amazing elements. It is just such a huge pity that it is so disappointingly short. It is really only half a coaster in length and theming experience. Thorpe Park had such a chance here to be on the world stage for coasters FINALLY but presumably Merlin just didn't put up enough money to build the last third of the coaster, or theme it properly. It is an amazing experience to ride and we did love it but it's so disappointing hitting the brake run after so short a ride time, we were left wanting more. We came over from Ireland especially for Hyperia in September 2024, we only managed to get 3 rides on the coaster the whole afternoon due to the crazy 90 minute plus queues. Dirty ponds and a non functioning splashdown really let the whole area down when we were there. Disappointing is the word. I hope the reliability and availability of the coaster is improved for the 2025 season and I hope it brings in huge crowd numbers for...
Read moreLoved the rollercoaster that much, I rode it 4 times throughout the visit. A wonderful experience, which has great elements and is fast throughout the ride. I loved the idea of being weightless and is quite liberating having the lap restraint. It was like being a flying bird. The staff were very polite and supportive to the guests including me.
It needs more theming in and around the coaster, despite that the best position is the front and back of the train. The station look amazing and the train was very comfortable. Look forward riding this coaster in the near future. It is one of my favourite rollercoasters and allowed me to ride four times. Hope to beat that record next time I visit Thorpe Park.
Well done...
Read moreI will not comment on the riding part, this review is about queing, utter incompetence managing it and how you can spend an hour in a 15-minute queue. The line is at one point separated into two, "ride together" and "single riders". You would expect that the single line moves quicker because it's flexible right? Wrong. Unless there is a need for 1 person, you don't move at all. 2 people arrive? You don't move. 4 people arrive? You don't move. 3 people arrive? That is your best case scenario. That means at best you will spend 3-times as much time in the queue as someone who wants to be grouped up. Guess what, if you pair up two odd-count groups, you don't have to let single riders...
