Had a super visit to this victorian attraction at Shipley glen. The volunteers are absolutely brilliant been friendly, chatty and welcoming. The ride is short about 5 mins but interesting. At the top station there's a small shop selling sweets and for the collector fridge magnets. There's also a small booklet written by the team about the tramway for sale. The tram can accommodate wheelchairs ( but maybe not the larger powered scooter type) and is very dog friendly. For a such modest charge of £2.50 (Aug 2021) an adult can ride all day. Around the glen there are some super walks and at the top a nice pub and cafe for food or drinks. Can strongly recommend to all on an afternoon out. Easy to find with it's own carpark ( weekends and bank Holliday's only) and is just across the road from Roberts park. Currently ruining Sundays only 12 to 4 you can checkout the website for...
Read moreI've lived in the area all my life but I've never been, I wish I had been before cause it's great It's short but beautiful, I never realised just how steep it was until I got there. The volunteers seem passionate about it and you can tell they love working there. The trams are really well made and maintained. The museum has a lot of interesting facts and a nice look at the winch. Theres a nice little shop at the top with a nice selection of souvenirs for the size of the tramway. You can't have an entire day out here but if you are doing something else in the area it's worth stopping by and having a ride, a return trip takes about 10 mins so there's no...
Read moreLovely little historic attraction with cheerful volunteers in charge. It's a short journey up, but very pretty going through the woods and the ticket prices are very cheap. You can get out at the top platform to walk around the hilltop and visit the pub there, using a day rover ticket to go back down when you're ready. A real bonus is that they are happy to allow dogs on-board with you, making this an ideal little outing for all the family. Well worth supporting the hard work of...
