I don’t usually leave reviews but I felt so sorry for the staff working there today! One member of staff was being incredibly rude to the others on a busy morning with lots of runners ect. coming in - shouting at her colleagues and being very condescending about how they were doing their job. It was very awkward for them and the customers waiting. After 10 mins of listening to the awful member of staff berate her colleagues (telling them how to make coffee, which she eventually took over and made incorrectly), I left with two coffees that were awful - basically sweet milk, and I couldn’t even taste any coffee. I would have gone back to ask for a refund but didn’t want to face the awful atmosphere in the shop again! I tried to support a local business but ultimately ended up in Costa, and the coffees from Salts Bakery went in the bin I’m afraid. To be fair the food and cakes looked lovely, but some management training might be needed, I felt very sorry for the other lovely staff...

horrible experience, shop assistant (old fat lady) unfriendly service, no service with a smile, no manners on how customers should be spoken to, absolutely pathetic behaviour, wanted me to hurry up, asked for a cheese egg salad, she made me the sandwich but no salad, I then had to ask if she put any salad cream in it, so she had to open up the sandwich again to put salad cream in it. the salad cream was in one little spot , not covering the sandwich, I could not see what she was doing as she had her back to me, it was only later I found out she had not put any salad in, I have been to other bakery's and ordered cold sandwiches , every time I am asked what I want in my sandwich in a polite and friendly manner. Her behaviour was unwelcoming and may be because I am Asian non-white that I was treated with such dis-respect. Well I will never be setting foot in that horrible shop again. A zero star rating is what this...

Excellent bakery, we went for a sandwich meal, and had a pie each, too. All the food is fresh, sandwiches made to order, pies hot or cold. All at a very good price. Could not recommend more, very high quality. The staff were very friendly and helpful, too.

The Covid-19 restrictions were still in place, which were being maintained very well with limits to the numbers indoors, and mask wearing by staff and customers. There was a queue outside as it is rightly a popular place, but there was sufficient staff for the queue to move very quickly.

Highly recommended, to the point where I would come into Saltaire just to get a sandwich from here. We got our sandwiches and walked into Robert's Park to eat them, where there is loads of benches to sit and eat them in a very...

The cafe looks lovely and quaint. Well, looks are deceiving and what befell me next is what I’d call the great baked potato tragedy. Two tiny spuds (McCain’s microwave ones are bigger), total cost. Ā£8 with tuna and coleslaw - the spuds were burned to a crisp. I know the lady knew this as she split them to add the fillings, and she still sold them! Not sure how you turn spuds into rocks, bonfires have yielded better results - two cute small potato’s who never got to fulfil their destiny, instead they became coal. Nearly took my teeth out as I’m not one to give up without a fight, alas this was a lost battle, the poor fork also went to plastic heaven.

A Yorkshire curd tart is a thing of great beauty. And great taste. So just imagine two of them... I had a Yorkshire too - surely the finest pasty I have ever eaten. From Salts Village Bakery, Saltaire. Moreover, an emporium of delights from @GrandmaWilds Handily located to the right of Salts Mill as you look down onto the town, railway and allotments from the Mill.

I love this place! The staff are always friendly and chatty and they make the best cheese sandwich in the land! Not stingy with the fillings either , very generous and you get a bowl of crisps. Their hot chocolate is 10 out of 10 with lots of whipped cream on top and marshmallows if requested ( although I'm vegetarian so I just have with the cream).
