Four stars out of five, simply because I'm STILL not sure about this shopping centre/food hall. The Light is split up by three large floors, separated by long escalators and lifts, the signage is not so clear in my opinion,so if you are a Light newbie it can be confusing as to where things are located, still is for myself and I have been here several times for various reasons. The interior,I have to say,is very well designed indeed,in terms of pure aesthetics, but in terms of practicality it's a little let down. It can be tricky to find the Vue cinema on the third floor, especially when coming from the street level entrances on floor number one, careful signage reading IS required. They have absolutely aimed for a more upscale feel,as the restaurants and other food outlets are quality additions. My absolute favourite store in The Light is O'Neill surf store, which is located on the first floor at the street level front entrance, have a look in there for yourself. The only car park in the building is actually Q-Park,in my opinion the best car park provider in the UK right now,not the cheapest, especially in this location,BUT - you get what you pay for - a well maintained shiny painted floored, extremely safe top quality car park, with all the modern technology, fixtures, barriers and pay machines you might expect, again difficult to navigate to the car park entrance which is actually at the rear of the centre at street level,be careful not to miss the small entrance road,as you could quite easily get stuck in the infamous central Leeds one way system. Worth a visit for the third floor cinema, surf shop and top quality car park, but there are now better shopping centres within...
Read moreWe keep having problems in the cinema sometimes the people that serve us say they don’t accept my girlfriend’s access card. The last time they did this she went online to the vue website and talked to customer service they told her that it’s accepted at all vue cinema she took a screen shot and asked to speak to a manager at the cinema after she talked to the manager and showed her the card and screenshot the manager said she would of accepted it and sorted the tickets her self.
But this time when we went to see the lion king film we had a problem again the woman that served us insisted they didn’t accept the card and my girlfriend told her they did and she had a screenshot from the chat in the vue website saying they do but the woman still wasn’t having any of it so my girlfriend asked to see the manager he come looked at the card said yeah and walked off the woman then let her but the tickets then right after went over to the manager and was talking to him I’m guessing was about the card or something...
Read moreThe Light in Leeds is a great destination, and my visits are usually focused on Vue Cinemas, which is the largest multiplex in the city with the most screens. It’s well designed, spacious, and always feels like a safe and pleasant place to spend time. The atmosphere is welcoming, and there’s a good balance of entertainment, food, and leisure options all under one roof.
Vue itself is well maintained, with a modern setup that makes watching films a comfortable experience. The layout is easy to navigate, and the whole venue feels clean and organised. A standout point is the security team — they are consistently attentive, visible, and very helpful whenever needed, which adds to the sense of safety. Especially as I have been here for many late night screenings.
Overall, The Light Leeds is a reliable choice for a cinema trip or a day out, with Vue as its biggest attraction and a reassuringly secure, enjoyable...
