I visited here yesterday with a group of friends and based on the reviews thought it would be a good alternative to the Ivy that we couldn’t get a table for.

We arrived at 6pm and it took over 30 mins to get drinks and the place was boiling hot with just 1 fan. Our starters came out around 15 mins later and a lot was left to be desired. I can see in previous reviews this place has been claimed as a casual dining experience but the vibe of the place and the way food was served would suggest they’re trying to be more than that. The bao bun was rock solid and inedible, the point of a bao bun is to be soft, light and fluffy however mine resembled a brick. The lamb was chewy and borderline inedible and was only consumed as we were really hungry. The mac and cheese croquettes portion was very small given the price.

It then took a further hour for our main food to arrive. It was clear the people have bottomless brunch were prioritsed as their food arrived quickly and they were regularly bought top up drinks. In this time we asked for water on the table 4 times and this wasn’t bought over until we had our main food. We were never checked on to see if we needed more drinks despite us finishing these within a few minutes due to the tiny sizes. 200ml of Coca Cola is insanely small for £3.25. You get more in a can for a lot less.

When the mains arrived there was also issues, the gnocchi was swimming in oil and inedible. The steak was small and tough and the upgraded peppercorn sauce was awful. The salsa on all the burgers tasted like a jar of Doritos salsa and was oddly overpowering. 2 of the chips were saturated in oil to the point that our plates had the residue left behind whilst 2 of the other chips were relatively normal and tasty.

We have no faults with the staff as they did everything they could to rectify this with removing items from the bill. The food has let this place down and it’s a real shame. It looks beautiful from the outside but the basic functionality of a restaurant is lacking. Maybe this would be more...

Very much overrated. We went on the strength of the Masterchef accolade. What a letdown.

I can't imagine any of what we had would have impressed the judges on MC. Fries were cold. Replaced with hot fries when we flagged down a waiter, but these were bought half filled. Surprising considering the first serving was sent back full. The second batch were fried without aerating. Two thirds were fused together like a thick rosti. Salad was gritty, evidently unwashed, the flavour wasn't anything to write home about. Quite terrible actually. Poorly put together. Broccoli overcooked almost yellow and flaccid. The orange juice is pre bought not freshly squeezed tasted cheap. The lamb chops, tough and sinewy and rather old looking. Accompanying mash looked and tasted quite stale and left our for too long. The sausages are quite flavourless and the breakfast we ordered looked haphazard and poorly put together and tasted like a cheap canteen breakfast. Coffee is machine made via the push of a button and unpalatable. Not what you'd expect from a "Master Chef". I liked the m&c croquettes, crunchy, freshly fried and and sufficiently cheesy.

I would not revisit. Ever. Overall I felt a lot of corners were cut to make the food on offer, profitable thereby comprising heavily on flavour and quality. If you're into InstaFaceTikX, you'll love this place for pics. Expect the food to be very poor though.

The happy hour, 'drink as much as you can for a single price', I see is very popular if you fancy getting tipsy, this does make the place quite rowdy at times, especially too early at the...

I had made reservations at the restaurant for me and some friends but due to unforeseen circumstances that were out of our control we arrived late. We apologised and understood if our reservation wasn’t available. However, we didn’t appreciate the manner in which we were spoken to. We were not even give a chance to explain before the rude, arrogant manager began his rant! He just laid into us accusing us of not have the courtesy of calling, yet he didn’t even allow us to speak and explain. The place was dead, as you can see from the pictures. They were not in any circumstances busy, which is becoming common occurrence. He went on to say he would seat us this time and made out like he was doing us a favour. After the way we were spoke to you can imagine we did want to stay! Not that he was concerned about losing business, he just shrugged his shoulders and was like ok. This would explain why business seems quite recently if this is the kind of attitude the manager has. What made the situation worse was other customers during this time had arrived, who didn’t have reservations and were seated and spoken to politely and respectfully! The difference between them and us was, we were South Asian and some wore hijabs. In this day and age and in the multi-culture city of Leeds I, and my friends have never felt such discrimination as we felt today! From reading previous reviews this is the first this has happened, where you have received complaints about staff and management being rude and disrespectful. Seem like you don’t care as you clearly haven’t done...

Visited here with my friend for bottomless brunch, which you would expect a light meal and cocktails or whatever is offered on the menu for bottomless to be served quickly and efficiently considering you have 1hour 30mins for food and drinks. ALSO the lemons in our drink were DARK BROWN AND CRIPSY!!! Could hear them crunching when stiring drink and when we lifted them out!!! Bottomless brunch is suppose to be a fun event where you go with friends to get drunk and leave feeling happy. However my friend and I , left feeling sober, over filled with the food being heavy and barely any drinks in us. We got 5 drinks which for bottomless which we have experienced other places is shocking. Ahead of booking you see a beautiful venue with photo ops and a swing for lovely photos, however this is not the case, you are seated in a front area with windows where everyone is walking through a ‘ shopping’ like centre and will stop and look in. To access the swing you have to go the whole way inside and down the stairs to the toilet right in front of the bar. The venue is beautiful however I feel like it is very exposed to the public for people wanting bottomless brunch, drinks are also extremely sour, every drink we ordered was sour and we could barely finish. You can only order one drink until you finish next one, which would be fine but the time it takes for food and drinks you barely get what you paid for. Rarely one who makes complaints especially long ones but I’m extremely disappointed to have traveled an hour to Leeds for this terrible experience.

On my evening tour of Leeds city, my friend took me to this vibrant restaurant, located at The Light. Fleur is a brunch and dinner place which offers 100% halal food, plus alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. It also offers afternoon tea and some dessert options. We arrived at around 7pm and the place was almost empty. This made us very happy, as we had the opportunity to choose our table! The staff were polite and very helpful. We ordered a Crispy Chicken Bao starter, 6oz Sirloin Steak, Kimchi Vegetable Pancake & Fried Egg, and Coconut and Peach mocktails. The Bao starter was very tasty, but we thought we would receive two. It was perhaps a little pricy for £5.95. The steak was cooked well, paired lovely with grilled tomatoes, and the chips were crispy. The Kimchi Pancakes were delicious and loaded with cress, spring onions, and sriracha mayonnaise. The eggs were also cooked perfectly with runny yolks. This dish was a little messy to eat, but very satisfying. We both enjoyed it the most. We loved the mocktails. They were very cool and refreshing, bursting with fruity flavours. The presentation of everything we had was also stunning! Overall, we were very pleased with our experience of Fleur. We highly recommend you to come, if you are craving some really tasty food. We might try the afternoon tea next time!

A small group of us visited for a bottomless brunch. The time limit is 90 mins so make sure you are on time and ready to make the most of it. As soon as you walk in you are faced with a bar and waiting area. Steps up to the main area so disabled access is not great. The whole restaurant has artificial flowers hanging from the ceiling which is very nice. The tables are ample for requirements and not too close to the next occupants. The place is busy and you have to be proactive to get served. We had Matt looking after our table and he did his best in a very busy period. The drink are varied and more cocktails obviously. But the beer options was Sol which I was happy with. You get standard options for food and if you want enhanced items you have to pay extra which is a shame. The standard options were good enough for our group. The food was delicious and good portions. I did have one small complaint which the waiter clearing our table completely ignored. Luckely Matt understood I was not happy and made a gesture to compensate. It has a nice atmosphere and great drinks and a varied menu. I would recommend this place to anyone.
