We haven't visited Freeport for a few years, so decided to go have a look for some Christmas gifts.
It's free to park, and there are 2 car parks to choose from.
Mum, who has difficulty walking far, came too but we took the wheelchair. The best thing about this shopping area is that there are very few steps and it's fairly flat.
Even though we went mid week we struggled manoeuvring the wheelchair around some of the shops either because of the amount of people in them or because there was stock in the aisles. The till point at M&S was particularly difficult because there was shelving in front of the tills, this created a bottleneck as other shoppers couldn't easily walk past us whilst we were paying.
We did pay a visit to the toilets. They were clean and smelled of sherbert lemons! Everything worked and was well stocked.
Whittards tea shop was one of my favourite shops, along with the Lindt shop. Whittards was easy to manoeuvre the wheelchair round. The staff were lovely and offered us a sample drink when we entered (it was a cold, wet day). The Lindt shop was very busy, but the wheelchair could be pushed around. Mum found it easy to use the pick n mix here.
There were a couple of empty shops and some shops which we remembered from previous visits were no longer present.
Most of the shops we visited were happy to take cash, although one shop assistant said they rarely get people paying with cash any more and couldn't give change so mum had to pay on card.
The shopping village is dog friendly. There were a couple of people with dogs walking round, although I also spotted a sign in one shop stating No...
Read moreI recently visited Freeport Braintree and had a great shopping experience overall. The standout for me was the excellent customer service at The North Face, Nike, and Belstaff stores The staff at each of these shops were incredibly friendly, approachable, and helpful; whether it was finding the right size, checking stock, or just offering recommendations.
Katie at The North Face went above and beyond to help me choose the perfect jacket, while Indya at the Nike shop was very attentive, (give that lady a promotion). Over at Belstaff, the assistant was super knowledgeable about their range and made the whole process smooth and enjoyable.
The shopping centre itself is clean and well laid out, though parking can get busy and the entre village is only open until 6pm. A few more seating areas or food options would make it even better. Still, the fantastic service at these stores made my trip worthwhile, definitely...
Read moreFirst time visiting today with my partner and it was a beautiful experience. We didn't realise how big it was. Always thought it was expensive designer shops but they were all reasonable and shops we liked. Seeing as i am 7 months pregnant, we spent a good amount of time in the haribo shop and came out with many goodies. The staff were all cheerful and lovely. We had fun at the food festival this weekend, visited the hot dog stand which was reasonably priced for how big the food was. We then treated ourselves to the waffle stand. The lady on this food truck was so lovely and had wonderful customer service. We had a lovely chat and a great laugh whilst waiting for our waffle sticks to be made. Toilets were clean and continuously had cleaners in to keep check on them. Overall it was a great afternoon and we would...
