Under-visited museum that's well worth a look around in my view. It's centrally located and donation-based for entry. We were shown around by a really informative guide who was able to make the visit a more storied experience. It's quite tardis-like, with lots to see on four? floors. The rooms contain original furniture and I think the whole place offered a real insight into class and society in the Georgian era. It does feel odd touring a place with deep ties to the trade in enslaved people, but the curators have made some effort to acknowledge that role and encourage visitors to ask questions and explore it. There's a small gift shop selling local books and a few other bits and bobs, but no food to my knowledge (although Park Street is a minute or two's walk away!). Most floors were not accessible as far as I could see.

A bit like my former home – discover what a Bristol sugar plantation and slave owner’s home might have looked like around 1790. Eleven rooms spread over four floors reveal what life was like above and below stairs, from the kitchen in the basement where servants prepared meals to the elegant formal rooms above... Facilities are a bit sparse, coffee terrible and the staff unfriendly. Prices waayyyy too high. Avoid at all costs.

Great house museum decorated well in keeping with the Georgian time period- such as this amazing chandelier. Staff were quick to welcome me and offer a tour guide sheet, I also liked how each room had an extra sheet of information for those who like the extra history/detail. It's surprising how big the house is and well worth a visit, especially as it's free!

The place itself has a wide variety of information about the house itself during the time of the Georgian era. It is amazing to see how they have laid out the entire 3 story building like a georgian house as it was back in the day. As the museum is over 3 stories there is a variety of rooms such as a kitchen a study bedroom and even swimming pool/large bath. The staff who work there have a a great knowledge of the era and are very polite and well spoken. When visiting there was staff members on each floor who were called Ryan , Caitlin and Rachel who were very helpful throughout the visit. I would say this is here isn't just for adults it is also very interesting for people of all ages and it's nice to see see an age range of people wanting to learn about this era. The museum is free entry but they do rely on charitable donations for the upkeep of the house so so it's worth a visit and a donation. Even though there Air Museum shop is small they do have a great deal of merchandise that is very interesting and at a fair price. I would highly recommend this museum to anyone who is visiting Bristol. Bear in mind that this museum is open Saturday to Tuesday 11am - 4 p.m. another nice touch is that the staff sometimes dress up in outfits of the Georgian era to give your experience a more...

Very good place! There's are a lot of rooms to explore. I feel like I'm an actual Georgian!

My 10yr old daughter wrote the above. 😊

For a small space there is a lot to see and she was fascinated by it all, especially the laundry room & servants quarters in the basement! There is no entry fee but they recommend a donation and I highly recommend giving generously as they are all doing a great job there! They explore the story of the owner at that time and it is very interesting. Great how they have a special laminated sheet for children to look for details on every floor,...
