This is a really nice shopping centre. It's not massive, but it's clean and modern. It has a good range of shops, including a large department store, a cinema and a library. There are several floors, although only the ground floor seems to be occupied with shops. The first floor appears to be completely under-utilised, as there are not too many shops there, and quite a few vacant units. The toilets are on the second floor and they are clean and well-maintained. There are lifts and escalators in the shopping centre, making it accessible for everyone. In contrast to the shopping centre being very modern, the car park is the complete opposite. It is very old and needs to be modernised. There are lots of tight turns and it is quite poorly lit in places. There are also lots of homeless people camped in there in tents, which makes it feel quite unsafe, especially in the evenings. They are often being very loud and I have witnessed them smoking and drinking in there too. They close the entrances to the shopping centre quite early, so if you need access to the car park, you have to go in via one of the side entrances. They don't really make this clear, so I was walking around for a while before I worked out how to get back in. Maybe they could let customers know this, by displaying the information on the closed gate? Overall, a decent shopping centre, but it has the potential to be so much better.

The Grand Arcade houses the more upmarket stores in Cambridge. It can get very busy especially at some of the more popular stores (Apple, John Lewis), so be prepared for a crowd. The prices for parking are extortionate, so get the park and ride bus in if you can. It's fine for what it is. It is kept clean and tidy, my only complaints really are the lack of seating, and the pop up stores that appear in the middle of the corridors - when it's busy, these create pinch points which are awkward to navigate. There are several sets of toilets - one in the Grand Arcade itself (third floor), one in Lion Yard which ajoins the Grand Arcade (ground floor), and two in the John Lewis store. There are regular seasonal displays - Christmas (Santa's grotto), summer (a sandy beach), Easter, etc. There's usually some set ups by local artists and schools as well. There's now an Everyman cinema in the Grand Arcade. The central library is there too. Plenty of chain coffee shops for a drink, and the John Lewis has a cafe as well. You can walk through from St. Andrews Street to Petty Cury and on to the market square. It's about as central in Cambridge as you can get.

This is my second time writing a review based on our experience with Fraser hart. My husband ordered two Tudor watches he wanted to try on to determine which one he wanted to purchase. He came in specifically for the Tudor Black Bay Chrono. We were served by Riya who we met in Fraser Hart Peterborough. Riya does not disappoint, as per my previous review she is brilliant. So knowledgeable, professional and very approachable. Like last time our experience was exceptional. Riya has a keen eye for what her clients like and does this effortlessly every time. We had a great time and my husband was happy with his purchase. Thank you to all the ladies in store and to Riya and her excellent customer service skills. No doubt we will be back soon!

On 11/06/2025 I visited the Grand Arcade at around 6.15pm. I was using a disabled toilet on the second floor and had lifted the handle all the way up to lock the door. I specifically made sure that the handle was lifted to the lock position. However an old lady and he son used their radar key and was able to open the locked door from the outside despite me locking it from inside.

This was very embarrassing and after she had opened it and everyone saw me on the toilet she closed it but this left me severely embarrassed and now makes me super anxious to ever use a public toilet again. Due to my medical stomach and bladder condition I have to use the disabled toilet and have a Radar key.

Once the toilet has been locked by lifting the handle up to the locked position it should never be able to be opened by anyone from outside using their radar key. I have emailed the Grand Arcade the time and date this happened and what I was wearing if they want to confirm this through their CCTV outside the toilet area.

Also I want other people to know that this was the first of the two disabled toilets that they have on the second floor of the Grand Arcade shopping centre in Cambridge that this happened in. I do not wish this embarrassing and severely emotionally scarring incident happens to anyone else like it did to me. This is most likely due to a faulty lock or a improperly fitted lock on this toilet because after some research the only other way it could have been opened is if the lady and her son somehow used a screwdriver or gadget to turn the round mechanism and...

Grand Arcade in Cambridge is an exceptional shopping destination that offers a modern, airy, and inviting atmosphere. The glass architecture allows for plenty of natural light, creating a pleasant and open environment as you explore the various shops. Whether you're shopping for fashion, beauty products, or home goods, there is a wide selection of high-street retailers to choose from.

One of the standout features of Grand Arcade is its anchor store, John Lewis. This department store is a real highlight, offering everything from electronics and fashion to household essentials. The layout is spacious and well-organized, making it easy to find exactly what you're looking for. The staff at John Lewis are always friendly and helpful, ensuring that your shopping experience is both enjoyable and efficient.

We always make it a point to visit Grand Arcade whenever we come to Cambridge for a walk, and it never disappoints. The shopping centre is not just about the stores – it also offers a great range of cafés and eateries where you can take a break and enjoy a meal or coffee. The whole place is immaculately clean, and there is a strong sense of convenience, especially with its proximity to the Grand Arcade car park, which makes parking and access incredibly easy.

Overall, Grand Arcade is the perfect place for both a leisurely shopping trip and practical, everyday purchases. Whether you're a local or just visiting Cambridge, it’s a must-visit spot for anyone who enjoys a relaxed, well-organized, and welcoming...

I visited this location 3 weeks ago and was Not impressed from the start. To start off with the information given out on there website for there car park is incorrect the postcode and satnav information takes you to a completely different location. When you do eventually find the car park they decided to number the levels in pluses and minuses for above and below ground. Sounds good but not really helpful when your in the arcade and only one exit/entrance takes you to the car park and it is not the one you came in by due to the lack of signage in the car park. When in the arcade I tried to find a member of security to ask but there wasn’t any on the floor. I had to ask a cleaner who didn’t speak English for directions. When I did eventually find my way back to level minus -3 I discovered all the arcade security guards chatting and laughing in the car park office. The reason for my visit was to do a security risk assessment. You will be assured to hear the assessment didn’t pass the grade. To make matters worse on one of the levels I filmed for the assessment a member of the public being harassed by street beggars whilst trying to pay for her car park. The lady couldn’t see me and I would have stopped it if I thought she was in danger. The fact remains that area is meant to be patrolled by security and they where at the time ALL down in the car park having a laugh at something. I would strongly advise against this arcade. The people who run the arcade are just after landlords rent and not looking after...
