Honest Burgers Cambridge — Restaurant in Cambridge

I've delivered a few orders from this place (Deliveroo) and always been left being hangry as a result for the rest of the evening- so I thought I'd give in and see if they could make an honest man out of me drum roll please!

Service wise staff are well presented and friendly- i placed my order and was given a rough wait time of 10 minutes. Spot on and as the food was fresh it was a reasonable wait.

Now. The fun part. As you can see by the picture even after 15 minutes being transported home the burger and fries looked delectable! Om nom 😋

I tried the fries first- they are cut from actual potatoes (love the skin personally) and were cooked evenly through. There were layers to the taste (I think i tasted 3) which was phenomenal- I'm pretty sure the neighbours thought I had a lady love from the sounds of bliss as I devoured the portion... thumbs up!

Finally I tried the actual burger- it definitely didn't disappoint! The bacon was cooked just right with not too much crisp or chew, patty was a lovely medium (as requested) with no fat residue I could taste but just juicy enough that I was left feeling extremely pleased.

Combined with fresh lettuce, sweet onion/pickle, a (barbecue?) Sauce that managed to complement all the other individual flavour and textures and... well... my stomach did a salsa and my tongue the tango for the entire experience (far better than I personally could 🤣🤠).

I actually had to go outside for a smoke afterwards because it was THAT satisfying- if that burger would have been a lady I'd have married it. A glorious love affair with candles and Barry White playing in the background!

This category is very personal for me and I tend to be very stingy with my stars. If I were to rate the atmosphere, staff, location I would give it 5 stars without hesitation. Their move from a good burger joint to a environmentally responsible burger joint was a huge plus and was so encouraging that I nearly gave this 4 stars. Let's start with the good, rosemary fries were spectacular, just a great accompaniment to any burger. The Buffalo wings were cooked to perfection(fall off bone perfect) and while I'm not happy about almost no spice, I will not complain about the flavor and understand that I'm not in the United States. The coleslaw had positive reviews, so we decided to try it, this was a huge miss. There was a need for seasoning and some sort of acid, but it just didn't hit the mark. Now on to the burger. We chose the single honest burger. The good, the bun was as close to perfection without paying £30. The fresh pickles and onion relish were just delicious. The medium cook of the patty could not have been better. When I cut into the burger I was salivating. But the star of the show lacked seasoning. I'm not sure that the patty was even seasoned at all. When a burger of this thickness is served, the exterior has to be seasoned enough to allow for it to be carried through the middle. I can understand the thought that the bacon could add the saltiness required, but unfortunately it just wasn't enough. In fact, I feel the bacon was completely lost and unnecessary. While 3 stars may seem harsh, from me 3 stars is a burger that I feel meets requirements for me to eat again, and thus how I arrived at this rating. Keep up the good work and next...

Really disappointing visit. Waited 20 mins outside (fair enough) was finally seated just before the guy behind us as two tables became vacant at once. He was served immediately he was seated - little frustrating, while we had to wait about 10 mins. Was mislead on drinks as asked if the karma cola or coke was larger - was led to believe that as the coke was in a can it was smaller so ordered karma - not the case as my fiancé ordered the coke - the bottle was only 300ml even smaller than a can, more expensive and tasted like cola bottle sweets (yuk). The guy who was served before us had pretty much finished his food by the time ours came (food took about half an hour!) this was very frustrating as we didn’t have ages left to catch the shops and seeing him finish his food and leave when that should have been us felt pretty annoying. Toilets horrible - two ladies cubicles, one the seat was stained yellow round the rim, the other had no seat!!!! According to my fiancé the men’s was worse with a single urinal which wasn’t draining (double yuk). Food finally came, asked for vegan Mayo and was told would have to pay - don’t think this is that fair when normal Mayo is offered for free on the table - was actually brought a vegan chipotle Mayo complimentary in the end - about the only good part of our visit - that and the food was nice when it finally came!!
