If you have small children, Llamas Land park at the Newnham entry has to be your go-to place in the summer, even if you need to drive... We spent many happy days there with our children, and now grandchildren are beginning to love it. There is a high-quality playground with very good (safe but exciting) equipment, there is a pretty clean wading pool (depth maybe 20-30cm so as soon as your child can walk, they can splash there), there is a bit deeper 'learner pool' behind the bushes on the Cam bank. There are also trees great for climbing. All surrounded by a wide grassy field, which is clean and well maintained. The parking (entry from the bend of Barton Rd) is probably paid now, but if you come early you might find a free parking space...

This area is a beautiful open park with plenty of space for picnics, family activities and then there is tge land pool too. It has public toilets that are simply filth itself. I have been to 3rd world countries with cleaner toilets than these. It really does let the whole place down. There is a nice shop on site selling hot and cold drinks etc and this although not cheap isn't overly expensive. There is a small carpark which has several disabled parking spaces but this carpark can fill up quickly on a hot say abd surrounding roads are residential parking spaces only.

On the whole we had a nice time here and would definitely consider...

We visited with friends and they set up a couple of slack lines between trees which were great fun to try out. There's a good little cafe near the car park so we had some hot food which was very nice. The car park is charging like any Cambridge car park. The loos are well maintained for public facilities.

But most of all, on a sunny day, the park was busy with young and old and had a really convivial atmosphere. Some public places can seem a bit overrun by groups of people who don't know how to remain in control of themselves but Lammas Land had an air of chilled festival about it the day...

Lovely park, big clean paddling pool, deep enough for bigger kids to have a splash but shallow enough it's safe for little ones. Toilets and cafe selling food, drink, icecreams plus pool floats right next to it. Over the bridge and down the river to your left is a deeper smaller outdoor pool with changing facilities and a lifeguard. Under 8's need to have an adult in the pool here though. Only letdown is the carpark is very small and time limited and there is no free roadside parking nearby.

Great park, lots of room to picnic on the grass (minimal picnic tables), lots of room for various activities. Lawn bowling area, free tennis court, ping pong table, nice playground for all ages and not too spaced out if you have kids of varying ages making it easy to supervise. There is also a shallow pool which operates in the summer and a cafe with ice creams, coffees etc which usually operates after school when the weather gets warm and on the freakish warm days! And public toilets too!
