AVOID. I arrived on a Monday night to meet friends for the 2 for 1 pizza deal. My friends had arrived at about 8pm and were sat down waiting for me after they had ordered there food and beers. I shoudl note that we/I had been there many times before! I arrived just after 8:30pm and when I tried to order a pizza, I was told in a rude and hostile way, by the blonde manageress who lives in the place, that I can not order pizza or any food, as they are too busy. I explained that my friends are sat down and that it is quite embarrising for me to join them whilst they are eating (some were waiting for me and there food) she was steadfast that I can not order food. She point blank refused and said I should have got there earlier! I wsa left to join my friends whilst pizzas arrived for them and not for me sadly. As I say it was an embarrising experience. WHO EVER OWNS THIS PLACE, YOU SERIOUSLY NEED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGERESS IN HOW SHE SPEAKS TO PEOPLE. SHE IS JUST OFFENSIVE, RUDE and ARROGANT! I would never say such comments or obersavations with out evidence. I am willing to speak to the owners and furnish them of other experiences there if required.
My advice to people considering going there is to just go into the...
Read moreThis pub changed my life. The Red Bull is a good solid local pub in Newnham (a central Cambridge district). The staff are friendly, the pizzas are good and they serve a good range of beers and wines. It’s busy mainly with locals but you get a few passers by dropping in. Monday’s are two for one on the pizzas and it’s wise to book ahead. I actually live in Cambridge because of the Red Bull. I was living in London and while visiting a friend (who was unexpectedly out) I ended up waiting for him in the Red Bull. After sinking a pint by the fire I asked myself why I didn’t just live nearby. After another pint by the fire I could come up with no good reason why I didn’t live somewhere so excellent. In fact why didn’t I live close by? The rest is history. I came here to study, founded a business here and still live nearby. They’ve a big outside heated area during COVID-19 and have warm cosy atmosphere the rest...
Read moreDont waste your time and money on this place. Went there last night, and the experience was so disappointing. Although it did say on the menu that the pizzas could take a while, I thought a while was maybe 30-45 min, not 1h30min!!! When litetally eveyone else in the pub, including people arriving 45 min after us had received their orders, we asked the staff what was happening and was told that they were very busy (it wasn't) and others had ordered from home (which must then have been literally everyone in the pub). When the food finally arrived, one of the pizzas was burnt, another one was raw. When we brought this up, the staff was dismissive and rude, suggesting that we could wait another 1h30min for a new pizza if we were not happy. Such a waste of time and money. Will...
