🇬🇧 Cambridge Food Guide | This Thai Restaurant is SO GOOD! 🤩

Been here a couple times. Quality ingredients, flavorful food, but very salty and a little pricy for rice. Taste wise, personally I think it’s better seasoned and spiced than the bland but instagrammable G* Squid, although the sodium level is too high. 2406 Tried steamed sea bass. Nice huge fish. More special than other dishes and feels healthier. The broth is sour-spicy and quite refreshing. There’s also some cabbage and veggie. Wish I had chopsticks tho. And I still insist not to pay almost 5 for rice :) The pad Thai and fried udon is decent. The stir fry tofu tastes good but on the salty side as are the curries here. — 202405 Still thinking 4.5 for a bowl of rice is ridiculous. Red Curry is less salty this time fortunately. Beef is tender, with slices of butternut squash (personally I prefer chunky ones but it’s alright). Tofu looks nice too. The ice tea is also the slimmest I’ve seen. —- Panang Duck Curry is the most frequent main I order. I love the tender marinated skin-on duck breast pieces. The duck meat portion is generous, even more than the veggies. (Having been to places where potato and other fillers occupy the bowl I think this is decent.) The curry is rich but not too heavy. The only downside is I can literally taste salt… And a bowl of rice for 4.5 is unimaginable/unacceptable for an Asian restaurant.😹 Sometimes I just order mango rice dessert instead (sadly they refuse to substitute the ice cream flavor). Papaya carrot salad is really spicy, in a good way. Soup noodle and fried rice also look nice. Fish cake is less interesting and can be quite greasy. Depending on the hour the place can be cozy or snuggling or crowded. Service is friendly and prompt. Not my favorite in Cambridge, but duck curry isn’t so common here. Next time I’ll see if they will heed my less salt request..

I've been to this Thai restaurant many times, and it's popular among nearby university students. Every dish I've tried here has been delicious. I highly recommend their curries – the red, yellow, and green curries are all satisfying. The coconut rice is epically delightful, and their fried rice is also excellent with generous portions. As for Pad Thai, it's good but not as standout as the curries. The mango sticky rice dessert is sweet, though the mango can be a bit firm. For drinks, I recommend the “Tai Green Ice Tea” it's really refreshing! “Tai Original Ice Tea'” is also a great choice. Overall, it's a restaurant I consistently visit in Cambridge. If you plan to have dinner, it's advisable to make a reservation as it can get crowded sometimes.

My fiancé and I used to love the food from there, but there are many points that need to be highlighted. As a result we will not return there anymore. The service is really poor, it is obvious the waiters are pretending to be polite but you feel they are genuinely not enjoying their work... my advice: change the waiters, some others will be more incline to be efficient and help customers out. The food portions are ok when you dine in, but for the take-away they are really stingy: we have received several times boxes for mains and desserts that were half-filled. And the dessert boxes were always leaking... Also, it is common to find in other Thai restaurants an indicator on the menu for the hotness of the meal (1 chilli for mild, 2 for medium, 3 for really hot). Here, nothing at all. Again, several times I asked for dishes without chilli, and even if I followed their suggestions I could not take a second bite because it was way too hot with chilli. And finally, as you'll notice when you visit their website and read their take-away menu, there is a 10% discount if you take-away. Last month, we were told at the checkout (what a nice surprise!) that they had decided to stop doing this 10% discount (no reason given, no warning when ordering!). Even if we insisted, they did not do even 5% discount as a commercial gesture (after all, every document they had in the restaurant still indicated 10% discount for take-away). And out of curiosity, last week, I looked at their website, and yet the website had not been updated accordingly. How many customers are tricked into this, finding this 'surprise' at the end ? One thing is sure, we won't be tricked again. Food is good, but service being poor, portions being too small and commercial gesture being out of question for them when they are wrong, they have definitely lost our custom....

Very rude and aggressive staff after they had refused to admit a guide dog under training. All attempts to explain that the blind also like to eat out and dogs need to become comfortable doing so, during their training were ignored.

They not only broke the law by refusing entry, but belatedly, claimed that all empty tables were reserved, saying they were too busy to talk about it, pushing past, and saying there was no manager available.

I’ve eaten there frequently, over the years and find that the quality of food and service has gradually deteriorated and the value decreased. But this incident shows how they really are below the veneer of seeking good tips, when it comes to their concern for people.

Guide dogs under training cannot legally be refused admission. Customers attempting to explain this, should not be physically jostled out of the way with contempt and aggression.

I look forward to seeing if any manager reading this review is willing to apologise and agree to meet me to discuss the legal status of refusing Guide dogs entry - and why it matters - and the behaviour of his very rude and aggressive staff.

I’d be very happy to follow this review up with one saying that they now realised the legal position and why Guide dog need to be admitted - and that their staff had been trained and...
