Great to see some more locations to climb appearing over the midlands.
The climbing walls are only for children's parties but the bouldering area is pretty large!
They have a large number of routes with the total wall area tailing slightly behind The Climbing Works and Boulder Central but certainly nothing to be sniffed at!
When I visited (26/1/13) routes were varied - some were on really small holds, others were dynos to massive jugs and everything in between.
Food was good however it would be nice if they sold something savoury - I was craving a sausage roll by the end!
Staff were friendly.

Read moreAs a member I visit The Climbing Station on a regular basis. All the routes are set by great climbers, including Tom Randall and Pete Whittaker. There is a good variation of bouldering grades, some protected roped panels, 10 degree and 35 degree circuit walls, warm-up area, finger boards, beastmaker and pull up bar. Every month they set a new challenge, have regular bouldering comps/leagues from fun to intermediate grades.
They serve hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes.
There are lockers available, shoe and harness hire, friendly help and advice and plenty of parking, plus a bike shelter. They also offer tuition and kids/group parties.

Read moreI may be biased because this is my local wall, but I've been really happy with my experiences at The Climbing Station. I've visited other walls and this one might not be the prettiest, but for the sheer number of routes (and the rate they're re-set), friendliness and helpfulness of staff and punters, and the general atmosphere The Climbing Station wins hands down. It seems to me to focus less on looking fancy and more on providing great climbing.
