Meadows is, sadly, starting to show signs of the "lockdown effect". The centre is looking a bit shabby and very, very empty. Once the smarter choice of Chelmsford City's 2 shopping malls, there are now more empty units than occupied. Sad times indeed. Of course, with things now opening up once again (June 2021) things will hopefully improve. Having said this, I still visit The Works for a bargain first edition novel or some casual holiday reading. It has a good selection of art supplies for beginners and a plethora of toys and games for the kids. Boots the chemists still have a little store in there, Wilko too if you're in need of some supplies for the home. Pop-up businesses come and go, making it rather difficult to write a relevant review, but safe to say you will not be overwhelmed by the choice on offer. Still, we have to support these businesses as much as possible and new shops are still opening, so, with this in mind I'd still encourage everyone to go there... Just in case! Finally, there's a massive Burger King by the High Street entrance if you're feeling...

The centre is clean and tidy with much innovative activity going on to attract those walking through.
There are however a lot of empty shops, it’s so sad to see this as 10-12 years ago, this was the place to be when it...
