We went to this little place, tucked away behind the main street down a narrow passageway, for a light lunch. We decided on double eggs and chips because it was simple, light and relatively good value. We had a brief conversation with the woman who served us (presumably the owner) about the local area and she was very pleasant and conversational. The food took a little time to arrive (we were hungry, and to be honest, a little impatient!), but when it did, we were not disappointed with what we received. The eggs were nice and large, with bright runny yolks, and properly cooked --solid whites, runny yolks (how many times are eggs served snotty?). The chips were well cooked, crisp, freshly cooked and generous. The chips were served on a plate, not in a stupid basket, or ramekin, to make it look like there are more than actually there. For such a simple meal, the food was nicely cooked and well presented, without pretense.

I have just enjoyed a wonderful lunch of cauliflower and Brie soup with a herbed scone and it was delicious! Staff are friendly and the garden courtyard is a wonderful sun trap. There is lots here for children to play with inside and out. A hidden gem that is too easy to to potentially walk past. Definitely recommend. And great value. Card payments are accepted over £5 the sign on the entrance is for a different business I think as it nearly stopped me coming in.

Lovely coffee house tucked down an alleyway Of the main street. Cute play areas both indoors and outdoors for children. The cakes and much of the menu appears to be home-made, and they obviously ring the changes regularly from the number of specials flagged up on the wall. Not a huge choice for vegans like myself, but I enjoyed my jacket potato with beans. Friendly service, nice space and relaxed atmosphere.

We only stopped in for a coffee and ended up with some plum bread on the side so this won't be a full fledged review. It was also mid-day and hot food service was not available at the time.

This very charming place is in Cockersmouth in Cumbria, England. You go through a very short covered alleyway to get there. It's a typical English tea/coffee room, lots of oak and little knick knacks. The atmosphere is soothing and the service friendly.

They have a full coffee bar (espresso, Americano, machiato, etc.) as well as pastries, cookies and such to go along with. Everything is home-made. Toilets.and free WiFi on premises. The menu looked nice, sandwiches, salads, etc. but we'll come back another day when they are serving. Worth...

What a find. Fabulous little cafe accessed by an alley from the High Street. Plenty of options available including lunches and teas and all day breakfast. Polite and friendly service with really nice touches incl play area and old style games, alice in wonderland pictures. Good quality food served hot and as we were leaving to set off on our long journey back down south, the owner gave us some fresh scones as it was close to closing, what a lovely and kind thing to do. Just a shame we only found them on our last day. Will definitely try and go back next time in the area and recommend to anyone visiting,...
