This is my first stay in a lounge for a number of years and after considering the four available through revolut at a discount, my partner and I decided to use the Clubroom at an additional cost of £15 each on top of the £20 lounge pass each through revolut. However I am really disappointed. I want to start by saying the service provided by those working there is excellent. Couldn’t fault it. Everyone is very polite and happy to assist with whatever you want. The area itself is nice, the seating fine and you are able to just relax ahead of boarding. The area is tidy, dirty plates and the like are cleared quickly and I wasn’t disappointed with that however there were no places, obvious to me to charge your phone. I assumed this would be a benefit to a lounge so don’t expect that. The food however is crap. I ordered an English breakfast, my partner eggs Benedict with bacon. Whilst the food did not take long to arrive, the quality was dreadful and cold. I guess the food is cooked elsewhere and transported over. Whatever the reason it was naff. We also decided to have some pastries, oh my god they were even worse. You are given the option of two types, the croissant or a pain au chocolat. Both tiny, not fresh and just unpleasant. One of the main reasons that we wanted a lounge was to take advantage of the food and to be honest after that crapfest we declined anything further. All in it cost us £70 for the two of us and I would say it’s not worth it. Yes you can have unlimited drinks and if that’s your bag, go for it but for my partner and me it isn’t. Oh, also found that there were just two toilets for the lounge. Next time I’ll opt for the “lesser” lounge and take my chances. Paying an additional £30 is not worth it. Just my thoughts...
Read moreI am writing to express my profound disappointment with the recent experience I had at your airport lounge. Frankly, it was well below any acceptable standard for an establishment of this type, and certainly not what one would expect from an airport lounge in England. The food selection was mediocre at best, offering very simple choices that completely lacked the impression of being in a premium lounge environment. Beyond the uninspired selection, the taste was utterly absent. To add to this, it was astonishing that while two types of sugar-free Coca-Cola were available, the regular version was not. The cleanliness of the lounge was truly appalling. The seating areas were noticeably dirty, which is simply unacceptable. Even more concerning was the complete lack of action from your staff regarding a glaring issue: I witnessed five to seven servers walk past a woman with her shod feet on the sofa for nearly an hour, and not a single person intervened. This demonstrates a severe dereliction of duty and a shocking disregard for basic lounge etiquette and hygiene. The staff themselves appeared tired and utterly un-service-minded, despite their role inherently being one of service. This lack of engagement further detracted from an already poor experience. Finally, the desserts were equally disappointing. The cakes were dry, and the "smart machine" for making pancakes took an unacceptably long time to produce even a single one. Overall, my visit was a deeply disappointing experience that failed on multiple fronts. I expected a comfortable and well-serviced environment, and instead, I encountered poor food, unsanitary conditions, and disengaged staff. I trust you will take this complaint seriously and address these significant...
Read moreOur main issue is that once our food arrived the television in the lounge was set to an animal channel. On that channel was a show that featured cockroaches, and various other bugs.
At first we ignored it, but then the channel showed a surgical procedure being performed on a Zebra’s vagina—I literally could not have made this up. It is obviously something no one wants to see while eating.
I went over and informed the gentleman who was at the check-in desk. He was very rude when I asked him for a moment of his time. He had been quite rude when we arrived too.
I then pointed out what was on the television and asked if they could change the channel, he begrudgingly got one of the servers and then a man who seemed to be the manager came out. Everyone saw what was on the TV and acknowledged it.
We assumed someone was going to change the channel or turn the TV off—in fact I naively thought that I was doing the staff a favour to avoid other guests from complaining— but no one did anything. It just stayed on.
Beyond all this, we honestly found the staff to be really unkind and unhelpful. The food was not very good considering that we had paid extra to be in a lounge. The scrambled eggs were at the quality of a cheap hotel breakfast.
We have been to Gatwick many times and have found the service and food to be much better in the standard restaurant in the common area. My suggestion would be to eat there instead.
I never write negative reviews, but something about this whole experience was offensive, as we are always very kind and warm to staff when we dine, and I don’t think we deserved to be treated this way.
Instead of having a relaxing time away from the craziness of Gatwick I am spending my time writing...
