Deal Castle Beach — Attraction in Dover

I am fond of Deal Beach. I have visited often since I was a child and love looking round the Catle and walking the Strand. If you wander towards Walmer you will see the bandstand that was erected for the Military Band Barracks explosion which often has brass bands playing. Back in Deal beach I like to stroll along the pier. There are not amusements, only fishermen and a cafe as a reward for getting to the end. There are a lot of well placed benches as the Pier...

A mixed review...... Visited Deal over the bank holiday weekend having not been for years. The shingle beach itself was lovely, clean and shelve steeply down to the waters edge. Warning signs for no swimming due to poor water quality were disappointing, although if you dot want to go in the water, then its not a problem. We spent a lovely afternoon on the beach, just be aware that the water isn't great of you...

Lovely pebble beach running for miles, quieter at North end of Deal near the Sandown Castle ruins but no facilities there, busier the nearer you get to Deal Centre but the you have the shops/restaurants and public toilets at hand there. Nice long pier with lovely restaurant at end and great pub (The Royal) right on the beach. Only down side is that it faces East so you don't get to see...
