What a fab museum!
We hadn't realised it was cash only and the lovely lady said it was still OK to take a look round then pop back with the money.
Irs a small museum but is packed full of interesting items
The best part was the copies of the panoramic drawings of Louth and the incredibly informative and articulate lady who told us all about them She was so knowledgeable and also clearly very passionate about the subject and it was great to have her tell us about them.
And because of what she had told us we went for a long walk and delighted in spotting some of the places we'd seen and been told about.

Read moreA hidden gem that I'd like to spend more time exploring. There are artifacts going back centuries, and I had no idea that suffragettes hid in the town hall roof! You'll find out so much about the town, as well as parts of British history through local stories.
The best part is the copy of Brown's famous panorama (shocking that the town council has hidden the original away) with great labelling and explanations so you can really map the modern town to the painting.

Also had a chat with another member of staff as we were leaving. Especially interesting was the display about the Louth floods in the late 1920s.
