Majestic is the only word to do this place justice. With the grey sea on one side and a drab industrial estate on the other, this beautiful place is my idea of somewhere which is fun for all the family. When I was recently at Lands End there were multiple coaches disgorging their squashed and harassed customers. Not so Ness Point! There was one other bloke who looked like he'd snuck out of one of the fish factories for a quick smoke, a lorry driver in his cab and two people who quickly got out of their cars, took a photo and jumped back in to avoid the cold North Sea wind (this is August). Not to be missed!

When visiting places, you may often find yourself saying, "Oh well, at least I can say I've been there." With regards to Ness Point, just lie to people and say you've been there. I'm surprised, even back in the day, that the local council decided to build an industrial estate at a geographically significant place. According to their own website, the council admit that the place needs something and that people should write in with their suggestions. I read a review saying that a kids play park had opened here..? I don't think so, unless you consider the rocks and certain death a play park. It gets two stars because the nearby wind turbine, originally the largest one in the UK is quite impressive to be fair. But honestly, just read the reviews, close your eyes and pretend you're there instead.

If you have a desire to be at the eastest spot in the UK then this is it. If you're expecting the 'wow' factor or even the 'oh!' factor then prepare yourself for sheer and utter 'meh', with a side of 'huh?' Lowestoft has little to offer as a destination so there's genuinely no reason to be in the area. However, if you do happen to be nearby then you could waste about five minutes and fully appreciate and absorb all that Ness Point has to offer. Almost literally nothing. You don't feel like you're at the easternmost tip of the country and because of the lay of the land you can quite easily see places further along the coast which are about a gerzillion times more pleasant to visit. Even during the hottest summer in 30 years, Ness Point leaves you cold.

this is a very amazing point of the country - but its a very big let down when it comes to actually visiting - to start with this point is surrounded by an industrial estate - the closest coffee shop is a good 10-15 minute walk away - i managed to get here in pouring rain so it was doubly disappointing for me - nothing much else around to watch - so its a bucket list kind of thing - just a desire to get to this point like you would want to go to land’s end - although land’s end is far more fun to visit then this bland view 😂

Most of the photos of this place say it all, it’s quite stark here! Having said that, there is something quite enticing & moderately dramatic about coming to a place & being the most easterly in the land for that brief period of time! I went on a grim, windy, cloudy & rainy day; there was nobody else around. There seems to be plenty of parking available otherwise, it’s fairly easy to find (driving through a bland industrial area) & I would say if you’re in the area it is worth a quick visit, just for the sake of what it is!

The furthest point East in the UK. This is simply a giant compass, with details of how far it is to.... (Name the place). To get here, you can either walk from cortin way, next to the beach, or from the side of the port. It's always windy there, hence the wind farms, so dress for the weather, but enjoy the sea breeze. No wheelchair access, no parking nearby, but totally free. If you have a lot of things to do in the area, on limited time. This would be the one to skip.
