Lighthouse Diner cash only. — Restaurant in East Suffolk

Just about perfect, have been coming here for breakfast for years! It has become increasingly rare (especially in Norfolk and Suffolk) that you find a eatery who actually seems to take pride in their product, but the Lighthouse is definitely One! Not just your standard café pumping out the same old catering supplies rubbish the Lighthouse does it right. For Breakfast Inch thick bloomer bread for the Toast, decent Local Sausages & Bacon and hash browns which aren't the standard supermarket type etc etc etc. Decent sized portions and not too expensive. We once tallied up that it was cheaper for example to eat here than at McDonalds, so we do, every week! I always give a balanced review and so bad points, not many, the Coffee's ok, not awesome but is a decent cup (the Tea is good though). The Sausages can be a little peppery on a rare occasion (but they are from a local butcher) but these are very minor points. They have the COVID arrangements sorted at the moment (another rarity!). I would (and do) recommend to all looking for a decent breakfast! Of course its just occurred to me that they are open all day and not just for breakfast, their food for the rest of the day maybe complete pigswill for all I know but I'm guessing with confidence that if they put as much attention into the rest of their menu as they do their breakfast menu then you will equally not be...

Another hidden gem, being a Sunday majority of places were serving Sunday lunch which we didn’t want, we had been recommended to visit here and were not disappointed, parking is plentiful as along the side of a public walkway, the food was lovely non greasy and deep mugs for teas etc which was like home from home. We didn’t know if the food wasn’t enough or just hadn’t eaten enough as was still hungry afterwards so next time I’ll try the all day breakfast and let you know ;) Only thing to note is it’s Cash only and no cash points within walking distance, on average all of this and 3 hot drinks came in just under £30

First time visiting, always heard great things about the lighthouse. Lots of choices on the menu, went for the Mega breakfast, which is as you can imagine big! Very reasonable price at £9.60 (22.10.2021). Order food and drinks at counter with a table number, then sit and wait. It was busy so had a little wait. Tables are a little cramped and we were unfortunately sat near the door which was often open and as it's now getting cooler we were getting cold.
