We were in the area for a few days and ate out every night. We found Sgt Pepper’s via a Google search and was immediately intrigued. Open since 1982, away from the main Lowestoft town centre (with local parking) if you are a 60s or Beatles fan, I think it’s safe to say you are gonna LOVE this place. Brimming with Beatles and decade related memorabilia (there’s even a mock zebra crossing and a drum kit on the ceiling plus numerous juke boxes dotted around), even the stairs to the toilets and cubicles have numerous Beatles posters and photos, everything a budding Beatles fan would ever want or need – forget The Cavern Club, this is place to be….So how about the food and drink ?? Love the menu, pulling on musical references (see pic), very clever. However………………. Be careful what you select as some meals (for me) offered much better value for money. I had the “ZZ Top”, which is basically a burger in a bun with some coleslaw and a dollop of pulled pork and 2/3 of a plate of French fries (always a good way of making a meal look more than it is) while my wife had “The Supremes” – an absolutely incredible chicken breast covered in pepper sauce with a nice side salad, some huge spicy potato wedges and a dip, I was envious and tbh, ended up finishing her meal because she was absolutely full. I had room LOL. I recommend you think a great deal about your choice of main meal. The food was fresh and well cooked and arrived nice ‘n hot. I do wonder if a number of customers eat here for the kudos and intrigue and the food is excellent, but a bit pricey if you’re just having a burger. Budweiser on draught and a nice selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, something for everyone. Staff were pleasant. Be warned, the place closes relatively early (we turned up initially at 8.45pm ON A SATURDAY only to be told that kitchen was shut down as the place closes at 9.30 !!). Needless to say, we went back a few days later (our last meal before we went home) and got in at 6.45. Overall, well worth a visit if you’re say, within a 15-20 mile radius, especially if you’re a huge Beatles fan, but some meals (for me) seemed a bit expensive. Doubt we’ll go again, simply because we live over 200 miles away, but as we were staying in the area, so glad we went. Check it out.

The service was pretty good. As long as you don't have a steak it's not too expensive. I had the surf and turf, I was a bit underwhelmed by the steak, it was cooked rare like I asked, the only problem was it had no seasoning at all which left it rather bland. The chicken in the chicken burger tasted rubbery, which didn't appeal to my wife. The kids nuggets portion was a decent size. The lemon sorbet I had for dessert was very nice and refreshing.

Fabulous restaurant! The food was delicious and worth the price. We loved the entire experience so much that we came back a second night to get another meal that was better than the last one. The owners Jo and Colin tun a fabulous establishment and I felt like I was in a proper American restaurant from the delicious food to the enormous serving sizes.
