I booked this venue for my sisters leaving party in August. We were really lost at first with venues in Bedford as we couldn’t find anything suitable at first, we don’t know of anyone who has used the rowing club venue nor had seen it inside before until the day of the party, but I can honestly say it was perfect! Nick was so helpful and very accommodating. We used our own dj, catering, decorations and had early access to the venue to set up which was amazing. The place looked great and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue and team. With having the balcony and it still being nice weather it was lovely and definitely one of the nicer views of Bedford! Because of the balcony, It never felt separate with people outside to the people inside, which is something we struggled to find with other venues in Bedford. We will definitely be using this venue again in the future and I couldn’t recommend it more for any event!

The pub is underrated. It is on Duck Mill Lane but you can access it easily via the emankment. We sat on the balcony and had some beautiful views of the Great River Ouse. It looks stunning at night time. Drinks were very reasonable and didn't break the bank. Staff are friendly and it wasn't too busy at 6.30pm. I would recommend this place if you want a quiet drink in the sun in Bedford Town.

The rowing club is a really friendly location the bar staff are really fun and really accommodating to your needs. Really great selection of beer and drinks. Cooked breakfast was fantastic and really great value. The best part is the view from the balcony you can just see some of the best bits of Bedford and of course enjoy the river.

I booked this venue for a wedding reception on Dec 3rd and was assured that they would not put up Christmas decorations until after the wedding, as it was clearly booked as a Wedding reception and NOT a Christmas party. I was horrified, on driving past 6 days before, to see full Christmas grotto including a particularly gawdy artificial tree! This is a very small venue, chosen for its intimacy for a small gathering of family and friends but it was filled to the gills with Christmas tatt! I might have been able to tolerate a real tree with discreet twinkling lights but red tinsel was a step too far. The ONLY plus was I spotted it before my wedding day and while upset, we were able to pull off an alternative venue in 5 days. But if it had been down to the venue, I would have been none the wiser until the day. Don’t trust them...
