First time trying the recently launched ‘ROCA’ restaurant in Bedford town, overall a good experience and recommended 👍🏽
🚨 This restaurant serves halal food and mocktails but be advised there is alcohol served here
🅿️ Parking - Harpur Centre multi storey car park but there are closer options
Food = 4/5 ✅
🍗 The Korean spicy wings were nice but feel as though they weren’t fully coated in the flavour but still very tasty 🔥
🍔 The gourmet classic burger was enjoyable however would have expected an alternate sauce in the burger instead of ketchup
🍟 The chips that came with the burger were perfect, crispy and fluffy with a nice dipping sauce on the side
🍹Drink of choice on this occasion was a classic ginger ale, very refreshing!
Service = 4/5 ✅
The only reason I would give this a 4/5 despite everything being very smooth was that the waiter approached our group relatively quickly after we’d only just sat down having barely had a look at the menu. Beyond that, everything else was fine. We even had some dry ice for the table which looked really cool after the food was served which didn’t take too long to arrive.
Atmosphere 3/5 👌🏽
Our group booking was for 7pm on a Saturday night, we sat in the bar side of the restaurant which has lots of seats as does the main eating side of the restaurant, we were the only people sat on this side however it was still really enjoyable.
Not too loud yet not quiet, we were advised that there is an onsite DJ which joins them over the weekends after 9pm which we didn’t manage to catch, but with the sunny view of the Bedford embankment (surprisingly) from where we were sat you can’t go wrong ☀️
The decorations of the interior are nice and simple, after springing the topic to management they did mention that they are looking to spruce up the space a little more so watch this space! ⏰
Each table has a nice little lamp which brings your focus back to the main reason you’re there, the food 🥩🍔🌮🍗🍤🍰
Will definitely be revisiting this restaurant to try out the other items on the menu whilst they...
Read moreWalked in, staff leaning around on their phones,
Ordered cocktails, they took 20 mins, half got spilt on the table and they were terrible, watery, flavourless…
Ordered starters, they were ok, the Korean wings actually had nice flavour but weren’t cooked nice, still flabby. Tempura prawns were meh..
Ordered steaks, steak was overcooked , cost a fortune, came with chips out of a bag, and peppercorn sauce that tasted like it’s granulated and like jelly and a poor looking salad, crunchy asparagus..
The mains got brought out before our starters had been cleared, and the plates were being piled on the table with all the old plates pushed around, Didn’t bring any steak knives..
Ordered a bottle of wine three times, by the time the wine came we’d finished our mains so sent it back and just had two small glasses, One was very small and the other was basically a large, I know that sounds so petty but we had to pour wine ourselves between glasses to get even amounts, we had to look at each other and laugh..it’s was just a total mess of an experience..
The restaurant itself looks nice the tree is cool, but the music however was SO loud that me and the Mrs couldn’t hear each other talking .. not quite the romantic date night we’d hoped for..
Fire eater lass was cool, but the guy following her around with a big camera around people trying to eat a meal with chicken all over their faces was a poor choice of action.
All in all a terrible experience, we expected a top quality Resturaunt paid £115 for two of us and got something on par with the hungry horse..
Lots of Much better food and value for money resturaunts around bedford, haven’t been this disappointed in a long time, Won’t...
Read moreThe service and food was absolutely diabolical for my nephews wedding day which spoilt the whole evening and the 35 guests present. People travelled from North and East Midlands to dine and unfortunately could not enjoy their Asian cuisine for the following reasons: starters came with no condiments and were overcooked, there was no meat in the curries which were heavenly oily that people were spooning out the oil, and full of onions with no unique taste, the paneer was rock hard and some people who had never had paneer thought it was sweet potato, the naan breads were held in the air and knocked together because they were rock hard and could not be eaten. Some tables were served with food and no plates or crockery. A family member resorted to getting plates of a stand at which point the supervisor took them off her. The same person gave additional napkins out to guests. And on top of all that there were only 2 vegetarian meals ordered and one of the vegetarians did not get her meal. Also the food was cold. One word it was Disastrous. The company should re-imburse the family because it was totally embarrassing. I actually felt sorry for the staff, because it was totally out of their league. Furthermore, despite advising the staff that they need to serve the top table first, they continued to serve food to the bottom tables, no service etiquette at all. In addition, the 1 star was only inserted otherwise the review could not be posted. What is quite discerning here is that the restaurant has not acknowledged or responded to a verbal and written formal complaint which was submitted immediately. 3 weeks later still...
