This used to be a really nice and unique place in Bedford with great food and atmosphere. Standard of customer service has seriously dropped, staff couldn't care less, friendly though not interested in keeping the place tidy and inviting. Food quality has also dropped, terribly messy tables outside. Overall it looks that the place isn't managed the same it was when it first opened. Such a shame. Visited Albero last weekend again for food and drinks. Not even busy, 5 dirty tables outside full of empty glasses, plates and rubbish. Chairs all over the place. Members of staff passing by several times not even bothered to tidy it up. Got food served without any cutlery at a dirty table with spills. Who wants to pay and eat/drink in an environment like this? Seriously, these are basics! This place has really got potential but poor management.

Absolutely loved staying here, we stayed in a lovely suit with a massive bathroom that had a spacious shower and bath. I loved the old fashioned style rooms but you can tell it has been refurbished so wasn’t at all in bad shape for an old building! My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and as soon as we told them this we got a complementary glass of Prosecco each and breakfast. The food at the restaurant was fabulous and they also have great vegan options as well! We had a beautiful view of the river from our room which was refreshing too! The bed was big and comfortable, you can tell they use quality products and bedding/pillows we had a comfortable sleep and will defo be booking there again! Defo recommend to friends and family.

Every single time we come to dine at Albero Lounge, we're reliably told by either the GM or front of house staff that there might be "a bit of a wait for food", usually varying between 15 minutes to half an hour. And you know what? It's worth the wait, every single time! With such an expansive menu, I'd be typing all day trying to list all of my menu recommendations for these guys. I'll suffice to say here that not once have I ever had a disappointing cooked breakfast, burger or salad bowl from them. It's also one of the safest places to dine for anyone with coeliac disease, like my partner, as they are fully equipped to prepare gluten free food as allergy. I guess good things come to those that wait!

I highly recommend you try the Albero lounge for breakfast/brunch. My wife and I were very impressed with the service, which was fast, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere also was very pleasant and welcoming and the toilets were spotless. The menu clearly had a Mediterranean influence, having a section of various tapas to choose from too. I ordered the shakshuka from the breakfast/brunch menu. This consisted of two poached eggs in a lightly spiced Mediterranean tomato & red pepper sauce with spinach and feta, served with toasted ciabatta. To fully appreciate this dish I suggest you have it with the chorizo!!! This was an enjoyable experience, we will definitely be returning.
