English Rose Cafe — Restaurant in Great Britain

The English Rose captures the essence of a traditional English cafe (in this instance definitely pronounced 'kaf') - the decor, atmosphere, clientele, menu and service down to every detail. It feels like stepping into another world if you are not from England or frequent modern cafes inspired by TV chefs serving smashed avocado and crumbled feta on artisan seeded sourdough. Situated on a very busy road in the heart of Boscombe, I've travelled past it countless times over the past few years wondering what it's like inside. Today I gave it a chance and wasn't disappointed trying a ham and cheese omelette served with chips and peas - a bargain at £6.50! Fluffy, gooey and delicious with crispy, hot chips. I was visiting the beach as the weather was amazing and I looked for somewhere to have breakfast. There were various cafes within walking distance but The English Rose had some great reviews, so I had a nice (but long) walk from the beach area. Lovely little old style cafe and great service from the young lady working there. I had the Mega breakfast which was lovely AND it included a cup of tea AND toast (most places charge extra for these!!). This cafe is a family run business situated on the corner of Ashley Road directly opposite the bus station. It is very popular with local people who use it regularly and visitors. It supplies a wide choice of food menus from light snacks to home cooked meals. They provide a good choice of hot and cold food and drinks. NO ALCOHOL It also provides a service which no other cafe does. You can order a meal, go to the cafe with a container and take it home to enjoy.
