Shrine of St. Margaret. I’ve been to Shambles before but I didn’t notice that the Shrine is here! This is my first visit in the Shrine of St. Margaret. My family and I went in. We prayed. The street is so busy but inside the Shrine is peaceful and quiet. Is worth a visit. One of my friend’s child had a school trip here in the Shrine. Going to this place we started from York designer outlet, took the bus going to city centre. You can buy tickets return. When you are at bus stop in the city centre ( thats where most people get off) you can walk from there to Shambles and the Shrine is in there. You can explore the rest of the area.

A pleasant place to visit that's very peaceful. The Shrine of Margaret Clitheroe is houses where she lived and tells her story of martyrdom. You can light a candle and pray and contemplate here. Donations are appreciated to help with the upkeep of the building. Very well managed place to visit, and a great place to think about the sacrifices of others.

St Margaret Clitherow was pressed to death for refusing to enter a plea for harbouring a priest during the English reformation. The shrine a beautiful quiet place admist the turmoil of the shambles. The relic of her hand is held at The Bar Convent York.

I walked the shambled and I have a bad back somone mentioned it to me last night I didn't look for it it was just there empty and peaceful the shambles is cluttered I needed a moment out of the way and this provided it the noise faded away and so so so so very calm in here the door was open it shouldn't have been so quiet the review isn't for a tourist but just for the fact I was grateful for it being there grateful I spotted it and grateful for the peace as for the lady I'm not sure what I believe maybe it's all the same god but I hope she's...
