I can't say enough good things about this place! Myself and my sister visited it today, we're mad Harry Potter fans and love anything in the wizarding world! We booked the tickets online for £6.99 each that's your standard ticket which includes playing 9 holes and at the end based on your individual scores you get a free magical potion drink, see photos...mine was Unicorn Essence😀 Also a top tip if you can, book the first slot at 10.30 we were first in the queue an so received a golden card which gave us a free Magic Meter, see photos. When you go in one of the staff signs you in, you pick your golf ball and club and are given a booklet and pen to keep score, also inside the booklet which we didn't realise till after there's tips on how to play each hole. You can then have your photos taken with brooms and a back screen and decide after if you want them, we didn't! They also give you a ticket so you can leave all coats, bags etc and pick them up at the end. You can have 6 attempts each at each hole if you've still not done it you move on to the next. They staggered people about 10/15mins apart so you're not feeling rushed and can just enjoy it. Everything's laid out brilliantly, very authentic wizarding feel everywhere, some of the holes are quite hard but it's such a laugh to play them. You start on the main floor in the shop area and then go upstairs to the next two and through a dark hallway into the Potting Shed and then on to the last two, where if you want you exit through a fireplace and then it's down into the main shop area again to hand your score card in and your given little badges, and the magical potions you've won. Then you can decide if you like your photos and want to buy them, we didn't. There's a little shop area where you can buy things like chocolate frogs and Butterbeer, flying keys, magical meters, lots of different things to choose from. All ages can go and enjoy it, me and my sister are in our 50's and we absolutely loved it, such a good laugh and a great price for it all, would definitely go again. Top marks to all the staff too they were all great and made the experience even better.

Myself and my partner visited Hole in Wand as a Date Day activity, what with her being mad on Harry Potter. The overall experience is really good but I couldn't help being slightly disappointed. The holes are quite short to be honest, they are really well themed and the experience is fun, but the holes seems to be crammed in. Another slight oversight is the direct access to the gift shop as whilst we were waiting a lot of people saw this door and used this as an opportunity to skip the queue.- staff handled this well, but maybe the idea should be reconsidered as there were a vast number of people trying to come in through the wrong door. We booked a couples ticket as this includes the same as 2 standard tickets (golf + drink each) plus a £20 voucher to spend in the gift shop and there is a decent selection of paraphernalia to spend that voucher on. We opted for a gift pack of "Butterscotch Beer" and a couple of jars of sweets... and these were quite disappointing when we went to consume them. The chocolate frogs were made from really (and I mean REALLY) cheap chocolate, and the butterscotch beer is nothing more than lager. There is no butterscotch flavour as the blurb would have you believe. There are plenty of opportunities to upsell, with photo packages and guidebooks etc. but be careful as you could easily spend £40-50 for 2 people (including the £20 voucher though). All in all it was an enjoyable experience and with the £20 gift voucher it softens the blow for what can be over quite quickly. It took us an hour, but this would easily have been halved if it wasnt for bottlenecks on some of the holes. Would I go back? Yes - the experience is good, I was just a little disappointed by how small each hole was, and the products purchased with out voucher in the gift shop.

Myself and my boyfriend went here as we love mini golf, we actually walked to the back entrance first but the staff were very helpful and told us where to go. When we went in it was very busy so if you are going i do recommend booking as we had to book for later but that was no problem as we didn't have plans. When we came back we were greeted by the most friendly and enthusiastic staff we had the option to buy the book and the pen for an extra 2pound which i think is very reasonable as we wanted them as a souvenir. We then went on to get our photos taken by staff member Jess she was absolutely amazing and had us laughing she was honestly so lovely and was absolutely right in character and she also made our day! We then went on to play the 9hole mini golf which was something totally different that i have never done before and really well done. I think the price is very cheap for the experience that we had. We then got to the end and potted our balls to receive two free drinks and had the option to purchase our photos which we absolutely did! The gift shop is very reasonably priced. We had a fantastic time and we will definitely be coming back next time we’re in Blackpool.

What a fantastic experience at The Hole in Wand York. A group of us were currently on holiday for a week away in Yorkshire and we were looking for activities to do to round off the trip. The Hole In Wand mini golf was a great end to an evening after going to the Jorvik Centre being fun and inexpensive. The staff members who got us set up were really added to the enjoyment of the mini golf. The 9 hole golf course took the 5 of us about an hour to complete, which is pretty good going given the number of 7 on pars our team got! Be aware, the holes are quite tricky, but excellently themed, really good fun with mates (we were in hysterics at points, and probably taking far too long to finish each hole, much to the dissatisfaction of the family behind us!) and I think this is a must-see attraction for a day out in York. Lovely gift shop at the end with a great selection of soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, snacks and mementos. One of the lovely staff members highlighted that one of our party members scored the highest putt-count of the day, and we have been taking the mick out of him ever since! We will be recommending this one to any family & friends that visit. Brilliant!

We visited on a weekday and didn’t plan to visit but just found this by chance. We were visiting York for the day and thought it would be something fun to try! We bought two premium tickets so had the golf and a ‘magical potion drink’ as well as a a phial of jelly beans or a ‘poison’ drink at the end. The place itself has been branded really well, they’ve put a lot of thought into the decor - some great designs as you make your way around. The holes are quite cramped however and some you struggle to stand in a position that allows you to hit the ball properly. Some of the holes are quite difficult too but that makes it a bit more fun. I wouldn’t like to come back on a weekend or school holidays as I can image it very busy - the venue is quite small and they’ve got all 9 holes crammed into a small place. There’s not a lot of space between holes if you’re having to wait for groups in front of you. You also get some pictures done on a green screen at the start which is nice but you do have to pay for them. Probably wouldn’t come back again but nice to do it once and have some fun! I would recommend if you’re in the area!

I visited The Hole In Wand mini golf whilst spending the weekend in York. It’s a great rainy day activity as it’s all indoors! The course is very well themed, featuring 9 holes in total. Once you check in with the welcome wizard (or witch) you’re left to work your magic on the 9 different holes. The holes are very well themed, and although some of the designs look simple, don’t be deceived - as they are trickier than they look! My favourite hole was the one on the forest, it was very well themed. There was a few issues with having to wait a little while at the last few holes, but this was mainly due to larger groups - so there isn’t much that they could have done about the speed they were playing. You get a prize at the end for completing the course, and if you get a ‘hole in one’ you also get a badge for you to wear with pride. In conclusion, it was a great place to spend an hour on a rainy Sunday, with great theming and some really fun holes. Whatever age you are, I’m sure you’d have fun at The Hole In Wand!
