We found the theatre easily from the station, but a few signs would not go amiss.
The bar was small and crowded with no spare seats which decided for us that we wouldn't buy drinks before the show. An opportunity lost for the theatre.
The show was energic and familiar, although this was the first time I had seen this performer, I found his enjoyment in the performance infectious.
We found the bar a little less crowded in the interval when we arrived and chose high chairs at a wall bar. Not the most comfortable options but there are so few options the choice wasn't great.
I was glad to see non-alcoholic larger in stock and option chosen for me was quite pleasant. My friends small wine was definitely small and somewhat difficult to open without spillage. Not very environmentally friendly with a plastic lid which appeared glued on.
However despite the shortcomings of the bar the auditorium was fine and seating was comfortable.

The whole experience (booking, parking having my ticket scanned from my mobile) was pleasantly hassle free. The theatre itself is a great size (960 seat capacity) intimate enough to make watching a band as we did a pleasure and big enough to be a draw to the artists to include on their tours. The only minor niggle I had as a person over six feet tall is that the legroom at the front of the balcony was a tad uncomfortable resulting in some fidgeting to restore the blood flow to my right leg LOL... clearly not an issue for everyone and the rest of the seating is probably fine. Leaving at the end of show was also a pleasure and we were able to leave our seats and be in the car on our way home in minutes... I will definitely go back when the stars...
Read moreHaving not visited this theatre for around 20 years - I was so disappointed that Medway Council have not invested in updating this theatre - or even replacing it - its dated seating uncomfortable - the audience were still queuing down the high street to get in at the show start time - bad organisation - so a lot of people missed the show - A Queen Tribute act on Saturday 23rd June 2018. The bar area is a disgrace - £27 for four gin and tonics and they had already run out of ice. This begs the wider question: With Canterbury maintaining Marlowe Theatre and Dartford the Orchard Theatre is it too much to ask this Medway Unitary Authority to do what should have been done a long time ago and provide a new theatre maybe in the dockyard area that would entice the people of Medway to support it and enjoy more live entertainment on a more...
