I created an account just to come and leave feedback for this place. My husband and I came in yesterday for lunch and were just blown away. We're not from Linlithgow, but we felt leaving like we had been part of the town for years. The sign outside wasn't kidding when it said "warm welcome". We were greeted by, I think, Stephen and Fiona. Asked how our day was, where we would like to sit, and how we would like to order.
We sat down near the bar, ordered food at the bar and had a look at the drinks options. A great selection on tap, although would have loved to seen more IPA options. Service was great, food was amazing. We were told the macaroni cheese was homemade, as was the soup. So we ordered both. You would never have known you were in a chain pub; it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing.
We did overhear the bar staff speaking about new flooring going in, and some refurb works and how the pub would look after it was completed. We will definitely be back to see how it looks, it sounds so exciting and you could tell that they were all so passionate about this pub.
We truly had an exceptional experience in here, and for a couple of people from the far North, we absolutely will return to Linlithgow when next in the Central Belt. Well done folks, you are a credit to the...
Read moreWorst breakfast ever. Went in with my husband and 2 sons on a Wednesday morning. I ordered 2 poached eggs on toast - but was told there was no bread (it was 11am and there's a bakery next door!). So I agreed to a bread roll and got just one runny egg on it. My son had a bacon roll, with bacon so undercooked and fatty that he almost choked when a sliver of rind went down his throat. Husband and eldest son had full breakfasts - one of which went untouched. My husband was hungry so finished his, but said the sausages tasted funny. He felt so sick for the rest of the day that he didn't have any lunch or dinner. Love this place for drinks, and even had nice dinners here too. But it was as if nobody could really be bothered to look after us during the quiet morning shift. Even when I repeatedly asked for no ice with my son's juice, the waitress brought it with loads of ice in the glass (not a big deal on its own - but on top of...
Read moreTraveling friends you need to come to the post office. You need to find the bartender, Her name is Sophie. What a wonderful hostess!. Can she pour your pint? Just one pint, you say? What makes a pub or bar memorable? This would be the staff there to cater to your experience. Sophie and her fellow associates took good care of us. They showed great interest and above all were eager to make our experience a memorable one. I agree. I will remember it to the day I die. Hopefully I won't die anytime soon so it will be a long memory, but should I die immediately? Damn! This was not planned. Sophie, should you be reading my review, I thank you so much for the great time we had. I hope that others who travel and visit your establishment will find such a wonderful time as we did. I look forward to a time in the future when I can...
